Um, no but Dean has called me, the poster, that in chat before.

And I never knew that Rome said that because I don't listen to his show due to the fact that I loathe him. :p ;)

If you want more boot, all you have to say is you look great today, walk away like it didn't mean anything for you to say it, don't even smile, and you'll get more boot. Guaranteed. Women eat that up.

I don't think he said much about what she SHOULD or SHOULDN'T wear
but more about her motivations. . .which are open to speculation

an her choice of clothing is NOT her alone
just like his is not .. .
How a spouse dresses *is* a reflection of their mate IMO

Sure legally she can . .. but you wife dressing like a stripper
at the formal dinner for you parents 50th anniversary is . . . inappropriate

People love to claim RIGHTS and PRIVILEGES
true she can do and say or whatever she wants
but
the Appropriateness
and how it makes the person she is married to feel
are legitimates questions/concerns

this thread IMO is not about what she CAN and CANNOT do
but
the motivations behind it and the reactions and feelings of her husband

IMO
she likes to be looked at
in a sense we all like to be looked at in a positive way

as for her husband. ..
maybe he gets off to guys being jealous that he has her
and they don't
I mean . . .she got his ring .. . he is confident in her fidelity
i doubt he worries about it

Rocket River
Marriage is the ultimate trust. . .once u have it .. . u relax a lot more

We don't agree on much here, but you nailed the purpose of this thread with what I quoted.

No, you are getting purposes and side effects mixed up, Smeg. River got the purpose right but you keep dwelling on the side effect which is to make you laugh.

Manny,

Are you having some kind of nervous breakdown or something? Your threads recently have taken a sharp turn into odd-ville. Most of the questions you have been asking are shameful. I feel as if I need to hit myself in the head with a baseball bat just because it could only make things better.

Just now realized I ought to check out this thread...

I don't really identify with the women who try to look "sexy" at work. I'm not so sure I want to be ogled by just anyone. That said, it sounds (from the testimony of women who keep up with fashion more than I do) like that was just something that everybody wears these days. At some level, she probably wants attention or doesn't mind, but on the other hand Manny might be eager to read something into it. :)

I try not to wear provocative outfits, just because it makes me uncomfortable to think of guys who don't know me well having those kinds of thoughts. But most girls are fine with it. I think they must enjoy the power. OK, to tell the truth, I try to use that feminine power just a little bit myself... but in a very, very subtle way. Though I dress casually and don't openly flirt, I think I do try to inject a little bit of "feminine wiles" in there, sort of under the radar. :) It's kind of subconscious. Part of it is the way you carry yourself. Also, there are some men (like the older ones that I work with) that I really don't want thinking anything like that about me, ever, not even subconsciously. Gross.

It's ironic, because my husband would let me wear provocative outfits - he encourages it. If I left the house wearing a short skirt and tight top, he would probably say "that looks magnificent" and would enjoy the idea of showing me off. I suppose the idea is that he's the one I will be sharing a bed with, so all it will do for other guys is make them jealous. (of course, this assumes that they'll like what they see, which I'm not exactly sure they will)

Oh, and for you guys who share this mentality, why do you keep wanting us to wear thongs all day? Even at work? If you want to see one, can't we just put one on when we get home? Our personal comfort does count for something, you know...

If you really felt compelled to hit yourself in the head with a bat, rimmy because of this, then my mission was a complete success!:p

Smeg,

I think that concert thing would be worth it simply because Jet is performing.
