No reason to flame you, I agree. We all obviously want the Rockets to win the championship, but if they fall short, I'd like to see Phoenix win more than any other team. Nash is just plain fun to watch on the court. Grant Hill is a geat guy who was victimized by injuries. It's not like he got fat and happy after his big contract. Yes, some people will argue that he should have retired and given the Magic their money back, but I never got the sense he was hanging around just for the paycheck. He got hurt and worked his tail off constantly to try to get back and contribute, which he eventually did. I agree with the other poster about Amare being one guy I don't particularly are for on the Suns, though.
If we are talking, would I rather the Rockets or say Detroit win the C'ship I will choose the Rockets. But if the Rockets were out of the equation, then yeah, I don't mind if Detroit, or Phoenix, (Not for ex-dukie Hill, but I don't mind seeing Nash win) or even Boston wins this year. (Garnett has lived so long in mediocrity the guy deserves at least to get to the big dance) There are still people I don't want to win it... like Dallas, or Miami, or the Lakers (not that its likely this will happen) mainly because I dislike one or many players on their teams.
From what I remember last year, it really wasn't the defense that failed Phoenix in that Spurs series. Every team can use another great passer/good scorer. Bell is limited and so is Marion (offensively speaking). Amare can get his own from many spots, but not the greatest passer...I'd say the Suns have 2 or 3 playmakers in Nash, Barbosa, and Amare. What happened at the end of the series was that the Spurs allowed Nash to penetrate but just swarmed his lanes....I think he became a turnover machine if I'm not mistaken. Bowen also fouled Nash all the time, but the refs missed that (or were paid off/incompetent/whatever). Point is the ball was in Nash's hands in the half court and the Suns couldn't score. Adding another pair of capable hands in Grant Hill legitimately helps them.
Completely Disagree, Nash, Amare, a completely undersized cast of guards playing Power Forward, its the interior D thats sorely lacking.
