I don't understand why it would be more embarassing to be blocked by someone considerably smaller than you in the NBA. Yao's only going to jump high enough to get over the rim, so Robinson only needs to jump that high too. And, he's athletic enough that we know he can manage that. It's not that big of a deal, especially since it didn't change the inevitable outcome of that game.
I have to admit, that was an embarrassing moment for Yao and will likely be played over and over and over again on ESPN for as long as he's in the league. I have to put some of the blame on Yao here, he seems to consistently get blocked by guys much shorter than him...take it up strong, big man, play like you're 7'5" 320lbs and don't ever let a little man disrespect you like that again on the basketball court. Of course, the fact that we won the game got little play if any on ESPN...
I must admit nothing else matters when it comes to YAO. If you know his style of game then you should not really care. I think after the SWIFT dunk on YAO 2 years ago this is really not worth mentioning, but again so what he always counter back with stats not dunks or flashy plays. For all the those who make fun of him, go play basketball with kids (15 years olds) and see how you can keep up with their fast paced style of playing and flexibility.

Who cares?? The Rockets won the game. Yao was high-point man. Yao has been nothing short of awesome this season. The Rockets are 7-4. Take all the style points you want. I'll take wins.
Agreed. I think the block was more about Robinson's great athleticism as than Yao's suckiness (because he doesn't suck). Add to that Nate was one of two guys who jumped at Yao from a running start, he clearly fouled him, Yao was the high scorer, and the Rockets won and it really shouldn't be embarrasing.
Tell you what, they won't even have playoffs this season. So the drought for a playoffs win will continue. It sucks.
Yeah, go win yourself first franchise playoff game first before any griz fan is allowed to talk trash.
Wow MemphisX, your team sucks this year and you come trolling here? How pathetic! Man I know it burns but don't make yourself look like an asshat. Heh, to think I respected a non-rox fan coming here hangin out with us. Good luck with the rest of the season .
exactly. someone said yao should play like he's 7'5, 320 lbs. if he played like that, based on history he would have no skills whatsoever and barely be able to walk and chew gum at the same time much less put up 26/10 in the nba. he's 7'5, he's not going to be explosive. he'll never just power through people like shaq. his height is an advantage down low when banging with another guy when neither has a chance to really launch themselves off the ground. but when he's turning around to just put a shot up from about 4 feet b/c he doesn't think anyone is going to be there to block it, there are literally hundreds of guys in the nba who can jump high enough to block him with a running start. hell, there are probably very few who couldn't. and considering nate robinson won the dunk contest, he's obviously one who can. and considering yao couldn't see out of his right eye and was bleeding from his forehead after the play, i'm going to go out on a limb and say he was fouled, but that's just me. it took until about replay #100 on espn before someone even mentioned that yao got fouled and even then it was something like "looks like he caught him in the eye, but still..." yeah, he was almost blinded, but still great play by nate.
yeah, they even extended the first round to best of 7 to give the grizz an extra shot at that elusive first playoff win and they still couldn't come through.
C'mon, you were one of those little kids who cried when Battier was traded. Or maybe it's because you got Stro back? And this is a coming from a Pau fan. Ridiculous!!!
we won the game....How many games have the Gizz.lies won? Wow, congrats Gizz on winning 18% of your games.
