My assessment of Obama 2-3 months before the election was that he would benefit if the GOP took one house of congress. If the recent optimism about the economy going forward is true, he will be very tough to beat in 2012.

At the risk of sounding like a grump I think its easy to be popular when you both keep taxes low and keep on handing out benefits.

That's just the sort of attitude a lot of people had during the 1950's and 1960's... why should I care? It isn't important. It doesn't affect me. It is also just as ignorant and just as bigoted, unless one decides to excuse people like you as simply being ignorant, and you are far from the worst of the lot.

Is ignorance a valid excuse for what is, in fact, bigotry? Ask those subjected to it before the Democratic legislation passed during the Kennedy/Johnson administrations, with crucial bipartisan support from an entirely different Republican Party. Their answer would be, in my humble opinion, the same as mine. No.

Reading large parts of this thread is like being chained to a desk back in school while some ******* scraps their fingernails across a blackboard. I don't know how some of you can invest the time to "discuss" these topics with some of the rest of you. I reached the bottom of page 5 and decided that I have tortured myself enough.

Why do you find it surprising that providing basic services to 310 million people is inherently more costly than providing them for 150 million people?

It's very hard to fail as badly at basic math as you are failing.

If the population grows the government's revenue should grow. The number of people should be irrelevant when determining how much it will add to the debt. Unless, of course, you don't have a means to pay for what you spend.

Tax cuts weren't cut, they stayed the same. And that's your Congress approving that military spending. Hoo-ray!

You forgot to add the personal insult at the end of this comment, silly.

They stayed the same because of YOUR party. YOUR party started the wars. YOUR party ruined the surplus from the Clinton years. YOUR party demolished the middle class. YOUR party did not properly regulate markets. YOUR party did not lift a finger to help end the slaughter in Darfur. I can point fingers too.

MY party tried to revert tax rates for the rich back to what they were during the Clinton years. MY party brought almost all of our boys home from Iraq. MY party ended outdated social policies like DADT. MY party does not have Sarah Palin in it.

I am just going to point out it really isn't you or mine Congress but it is ours. Regarding party both Republicans and Democrats supported the continuation of tax cuts and military spending. I don't think either party can duck those.

Love the vitriol and hate. You wear it well.

Your party had the supermajorities and the messiah to end all the things you mentioned, and promised to do all of it. Yet they didn't do what you wanted them to. Shouldn't you be upset with them too instead of defending them? The other party (not necessarily mine, btw) has been essentially irrelevant the past couple years...the Dems could have done anything they wanted.

You are correct, it is OUR congress and OUR president.

This is what happens when one side's propaganda machine labels our president as a foreigner and describes the opposite party as socialist foreign invaders bent on the destruction of American values.

Let's see what Obama campaigned on:

    Healthcare reform: check
    Ending DADT: check
    Ending the Iraq war: check
    Regulating credit card companies: check
    Wall street reform: check

Besides not letting tax cuts for the rich expire, he's kept the MAJORITY of his campaign promises. He did this with unprecendented resistance from the minority party even when he attempted to reach out to the PARTY OF NO.

He didn't need the "party of no" to do anything. While your list is surely an accomplishment for the president, he could have had much more than that these past 2 years, with his supermajorities at his disposal.

Shouldn't you be at least a little upset with the president instead of continuously directing your anger at the right? Or are you satisfied with what he got considering his more than favorable conditions?

The government has no means to pay for what it spends?

I guess that's why it has defaulted and declared bankruptcy, right?

How about job creation? Don't worry, Obama is gonna focus on this really hard this year. He said so.
How about being off oil in ten years? Obama is an idiot for even suggesting this.
    How about no ear-marks?
How about posting bills online a week (or something like that) before they will be signed?

Stop giving Obama credit for ending the Iraq war. It ridiculous and no soldier believes that baloney. Bush ended the war.

You mean the same ones that have already been posted on Thomas.gov for months in advance as they are introduced, as well as on various congressional websites?

Serious question, do you have any political science related education beyond high school civics?

You don't appear to know the difference between debt and insolvency.

Serious question, do you own a credit card?

EDIT: never mind, I forgot about your previous posts and the fact that you're just f-ng around. My mistake, don't answer those questions, please.
