The momentum Hillary had at the time would have most likely outlasted Obama's... But it's hindsight. The general election will make up for it.
Side comment: Isn't it funny how the Presidents generally considered great are those who led America in the bloodiest wars (Lincoln, Wilson, Roosevelt, Truman). (And in my mind Truman and Wilson were among the worst.) Peace is bad for a legacy.
Yes! I meant nice. PS -- weslinder, agree with you very much on the blood streak of legacy. Not sure about your view of harry truman.
Ron Paul said that in his convention speech (probably said it before as well). Too bad it didn't get a lot of media play.
I think that's the one thing our current president learned about history. Unfortunately, it only works if you pay attention to a bunch of other stuff too.
Riiiiight. Sorry, Obama rebuilding the Democratic Party from the ground up just does not hold water. It is the same Clinton, Pelosi, Kennedy crowd around Obama.
It's also the same party that was was called dead after 2002 and 2004. He and Dean have put Democrat organizations in all 50 states, have turned solid red states like Montana and Virginia pink, and regardless of what happens in the presidential election, they are poised to pick up a significant number of seats in both the House and the Senate.
Uhhh. Obama just single-handedly kept the Clinton oligarchy out of the White House. Like it or not, he is a symbol of reform. Its not like T.K. is all the sudden going to vanish into thin air because Obama gets the nod.
Obama not only implemented changes in the money that his campaign will accept to limit special interest, but he forced the DNC to do the same. He's already started making changes and he isn't even the President yet.
