I think Palin and Putin are very much alike in that they are sub-intellectuals. I personally don't want visceral reactive personalities in charge of the subtle dance of world politics. A liberal brain trust did a pretty good job with Kruschev though they hadn't learned the lesson that the local populace is the key to proxy wars. I think everyone, even the Bush cadre' knows that now. Putin certainly knows it after Afghanistan because he made sure he had the South Osettians in his pocket. Dignity, diplomacy, statesmanship and situational analysis are what is important in international relations, not a history of failure masquerading as "experience". Yeah Biden got caught funky on camera, that doesn't mean he can't be the equal in a meeting with Putin.
Obama just took a trip around the world talking foregin policy.he also has been to africa I know in a fact fiding mission.
You are lifting up his VANITY TOUR across Europe as foreign policy credentials? That is just hilarious. You have even less cred than you started with, after this disaster of a post. Foreign policy experience isn't gained by taking a photo-opp tour across Europe and the Middle East. If this is your baseline level of intelligence, then you have absolutely no business engaging me in debate. Ever. Please, quit while you are behind.
If Putin did not say "Thank you, ma'am!", she would snap her pit bull jaws on his ass, leaving a lipstick mark. Then she would send in the Alaskan National Guard and kick some Ruskie ass!!!
Very true. On that mission he met with troops, Generals in the field of combat, and interacted very well with heads of state. It was a real indicator of the way he is able to deal with foreign leaders as well as military leaders in our own nation.
If that was a vanity tour, then what does that say about Palin career? A debate with you is just like me trying to have a debate with the backside of a goat or donkey; either way, I’m still talking to an ass.
Thanks for asking. Assumption #1: I am against McCain/Palin because the VP has little foreign policy experience. ===> FALSE. I am against McCain/Palin for the following reasons, among many, many more. That's why I'm glad you asked. (1) I honestly think this year's GOP platform is even more conservative and extreme than 2000 and 2004. Those policies were disasterous, IMO, and exacerbating those policies cannot help this nation. (2) I have not heard much substance from McCain or Palin about what exactly they would do. Surprisingly or not, Obama has been much more detailed about what he seeks to accomplish. (3) McCain has a history of being wreckless and impulsive. The choice of Palin reaffirmed this in the worst way, at the worst time. (4) McCain combines the impuslive, rash nature with a strong tendency to be hawkish. That spells disaster for America to me. More expense and more ill advised, poorly justified foreign experiments, costing American lives and limbs. (5) The choice of Palin underlines the extent to which the most socially conservative elements of the GOP rule the party, at the expense of the centrists and the fiscally conservative elements. (And there are some excellent members of the latter factions in the party; I pity them, and you probably hate them.) (6) McCain's age makes Palin and her qualifications, attitudes, and policy stances much more of an issue for me. I was just speaking with an M.D./PhD about this, a cancer researcher. A 72 year old man has a 50% chance of expiring within five years. If I am "ageist" fine, but that is biology, and it makes Palin's extreme stances more important. I could go on, (would you like that?), but suffice it to say that Palin's "foreign policy experience" is not one of my major worries. On the topic, she is clearly, in my view, not as intelligent as Obama. Snide people are usually not very intelligent, in my experience. If you're playing chess with Putin, you better know how to study a board.
I guess the fact that conquistadors always have fast horses is what accounts for them running off all the time.
