Nope, but thanks for suggesting that I use recreational drugs. We are an unknown quantity, a Jekyll and Hyde team, you never know which one your going to face. Opponents don't like that.
we are simply running a rotation that is too thin lowry and martin were arguably our best players last season and lowry was/is in contention for MIP this season with a bunch of tired players of poor or mediocre talent we cant expect much more
Yeah, bumping a thread is saying I told you so or I was wrong. Starting a new thread is knee jerk. I would like to see more vets starting threads, across. Why dont you start one? One way you can see the interest in this team is lukewarm is by how many posts the old timers make compared to the rookies. Right now, the rookies are dominating. Been that way for awhile. Some of the vets just pop on to pop off without any thing useful to add. Dont be like that please.
I don't know how the premise of the OP is even arguable. We have a team without stars in a league of stars. We have a team fighting and clawing for the 8th and final playoff spot in a league that allows more teams into its playoff tournament than it excludes. That's where we are...and that's where we've been. It's going to take something dramatic to knock us off this treadmill of mediocrity.
I see you included your usual cliches. It's like you just have a template ready to go and just paste and submit.
Can you argue with the message instead of coming after the messenger? What part of what I just said do you disagree with? Maybe that would help advance the discussion instead of trying to get at me, personally. Thanks in advance.
Woah... calm down. You are totally taking that out of context. I LOVE Scola, and am one of the few guys on this board that doesnt want him traded. And your right, he was great on Dirk one on one, but Im talking about overall team defense deficiencies, not effort. We all know the effort, offensive skill, and class is there. Its the speed, size, and length that makes him one dimensional. What Im getting at is the fact that the Rockets are almost dead last in the league at points in the paint. Even despite bringing in 2 of the top 10 defensive centers in the league. This tells me one of three things. The PF post player is giving up alot of size that the Rockets cant match, the perimeter defense is where the issue lies, or Dalembert/Camby are falsely advertised. So you tell me. Which one of these is it?
This is the part I don't understand. How in the wide, wide world of sports did you come to this conclusion?

By watching us compete against these teams and by watching these teams compete against others. 1. OKC has a huge achilles heal known as Russell Westbrook. He explodes under intensity and pressure. I expect it to happen again. I won't believe he's got the mentality to run the point on a title competitive team until he actually proves it. 2. OKC's game is predicated on the fast break and getting run outs. When you get to the playoffs, the good teams squash the break, they keep the floor balanced, they limit the runouts by taking care of the basketball and getting good shots. Without this element in OKC's game, they will struggle. 3. OKC does not have a significant back-to-the-basket post offense. Durant posts up a little but and once in a while they try to post up Westbrook or Harden. But it's not nearly enough. 4. We have dogged them twice. Dragic has driven Westbrook nuts. We've got the best defender in the league for Durant in Parsons. Of all the top tier teams, we match up better against them than any other team. ....................... I'm not saying we are going to beat them. Frankly, I doubt we can especially if Lowry and Martin aren't playing or aren't available to us. I'm saying we could make it a series. And we could get lucky against them. I'm saying there's no way we can get lucky against LAL, SAS, and MEM. They are TOO BIG and TOO SKILLED in the half-court game. We have NO CHANCE against them and the series will probably only go 5 games.
The Spurs are big and skilled? Tim Duncan is ancient and Blair and Splitter are both mediocre. We have more than enough fire power to play with those bigs. Also, we have known Spur killers on this roster in Goran and Scola, to go with near PERFECT defensive matchups. Dale/Camby for Duncan Lowry/Dragic for Parker Parsons for Ginobili I'm afraid I just don't see what makes the Spurs so scary. (Stephen Jackson COULD make them scary, I concede...)
Also, Marcus Camby has always given Tim Duncan some trouble, as has Dalembert this year. I can live with Tony Parker pick and rolls. That's all they have. No overwhelming talent like Westbrook/Harden/Durant/Ibaka...
Yes, they are big and skilled. Duncan is one of the greatest players of all time. Blair is a L-O-A-D! They've got a 7-footer on the bench in Splitter who is better defensively and offensively than Dally. Now they've picked up Diaw, a player that is allegedly fat and out of shape. And he's running up and down the floor last night facilitating their offense from the post. We probably won't make it to face them in the playoffs but if we did we would get slaughtered. Because they are going to slaughter a couple teams at least this year and they may beat the Lakers to get to the Finals. You are off your rocker thinking we can compete with them.
