^ So you're telling me that all I would need would be an unlocked iPhone... to get apps from the Wi-Fi network... how? I still can't see this happening, yo.
Here is what I did -buy a used iphone -call ATT and tell them that to block any internet usage to that phone number because you dont want to accidentally get charged for using internet on the phone (dont tell them you have an iphone) -plug your ATT sim card into your iphone and you are set With ATT blocking your internet access to 3G or EDGE, your apps wont be able to be on the internet unless you are connected to wifi. Been doing this for almost a year.
Question. Right now I am using a LG Shine as my mobile phone through AT&T. My sister just got an iPhone and I got her Blackberry from her. Using the LG, I already have an unlimited data/texting plan that runs $30 per month. If I switch my SIM card to the Blackberry, will my bill increase or will it remain the same since I have the unlimited data/text plan? I asked this on AT&T's wireless forum and somebody told me that my bill would see an increase of about $20 per month. Is that right?
Your LG Shine uses the $15 data plan; BlackBerry requires the $30 smartphone data plan. So you're bill will increase by $15.00
If I switched back to the non-smartphone from the Blackberry would my rate plan then go back down if I did not like the service?
iPhone without Contract According to Apple's internal documentation, the iPhone is now available without AT&T contract or ID at any Apple Store. Our contact claims that the iPhone is locked, however, so it will only work with AT&T SIMs. Here are the conditions: • Customers are not required to have an AT&T contract. • Customers can only purchase one iPhone per day. Is that easy. Then it's up to you to unlock it. The price is $499 for the iPhone 3G 8GB, $599 for the iPhone 3GS 16GB, and $699 for the 32GB top model.
