I never understand this argument. Don't all governments (including the US and most of the industrialized world) separate defense spending from the social spending? The money for a nuke comes from a separate pool of cash as deemed necessary by the government. Wouldn't the poor in our country (and they do!) whine that we should spend less money in Iraq and more on ensuring that there are no homeless? (Just making a logic point - not trying to make this into a D&D issue so let's not go there - thanks!)
I wasn't making an argument. I was expanding on what adeelsiddiqui said about the trash pickup. My comment about the nuke was to illustrate that they are not far behind technologically. The mention of wealth disparity explains why they don't have regular trash pickup and water lines.
