Grow a spine. You don't want the drink they will give you. Get your ass out the car, get a refund, or ****ing drop it.
Hey Einstein, why do you think I was trying to talk to the Mgr.? the point of easy on the ice is to get more drink and less space taking ice. the drink itself is already cool and you only need 1/4 of ice to keep it cold.
Exactly. I really don't get the way Sonics handled this. I've worked in the restaurant business before too. And it doesn't even take the manager to correct this problem. No need to even ask questions, unless the customer does it over and over (never happened before). I mean, even if it was the customer's mistake(by forgetting to ask for the easy ice in the first place), it really doesn't hurt the restaurant to rectify it. And potentially helps because the customer will remember the good service.
Like many mentioned, it was only whatever dollar and change for the drink, few more dollars for the burger. I could have bought the meal on my dime and it wouldn't have made a difference. I wasn't sweating that part. In the end it was just good ole stinkin' principle. What kind of Mgr. hides behind his employees and won't even go on the PA to talk?
I think you should write an angry hand written letter to Sonic corporate management. Make sure the ink is in red to convey how serious the matter is to you.
Who doesn't like Sonic ice? I'd just assume get a cup of ice w/ no drink in it. By the way, the Sonic ice is that way for a reason. The nugget ice allows the restaurant to use less syrup to make a drink, making the most profitable item in a restaurant more profitable. That $2 Route 44 Cherry Limeade costs the store about $.10.
Um dude, You should have stayed there till you got another drink. Thats BS and you shoulda called them on it. You get out of your effing car and walk up to their little kitchen area and ask for your bloody drink. Now if all that fails then you email the Sonic hq or give the owner of that location a call. I'm sure they would hook you up with a voucher or something like that for your troubles. You need to learn to raise sh#t if they wanna play stupid games like that.
I'm all about principal...very crappy a mgr. didn't come out...for that amount of money, no they won't go after you...but you will probalby be blacklisted form that place or others if the owner owns more than one...
On principle the restaurant was being stupid. Question - Some people think it's no big deal since it's over a cheap drink. So at what price point do you guys find bad service unacceptable? $3? $5? $10?
To me bad service is always unacceptable regardless of the price. It generally takes time, energy, gas, etc. to go to a fast food restaurant. It doesn't matter what I order. If the order is screwed up I will let them know. If they don't fix it or are rude about it, I will let the manager know. If he doesn't fix things, I'll let the regional office know.
You gave in and drove away with a lame excuse. They are laughing at you. Man up and go back there to settle this. If not this will eat at you the rest of your life. You're better than them, show it.
All that over a stupid drink. They should have owned up to their mistake and just gave you another drink. I would send in a complaint on that particular store through their website...or however. The time they spent debating the drink issue with you ended up costing more than just giving you a re-fill. Also, if the manager is too busy to address a customer complaint, then he is a panzy ass who deserves to get a complaint on his record. That said...part of the scam is to load the cup full of ice and give you much less liquid beverage. If everyone started asking for little to no ice, then their profits would be impacted and they would probably start refusing those types of requests. That's part of the fast food game and has been that way since the beginning.
More pathetic than firing the cleaning lady over a cheap $50 dollar ring... why? cuz you're a man dont b**** and complain over something so stupid grow a spine, rofl cancelling your order bcuz u aint got money, and then jetting out, you are pathetic I hated people like you when I used to work in a restaurant
Not that I'm in love with the company, but I've worked at a couple Sonics and both stores stressed the "customer is always right" policy. All the managers I've worked for would have apologized sincerely and brought you out another drink. That's pretty crappy and I think you should let corporate know so that store can be reprimanded. Getting a bit off-topic here...I've worked in customer service/food type jobs since I was 16. I'm just a friendly person by nature so I always have a smile and am very courteous. "Yes ma'am, yes sir, I'll go get that for you right away sir." Some people are honestly just outright rude. I mean, you'd think I ruined their day or something the way they yell if I (or a cook, or a drink maker) get anything wrong. I fix it right away and apologize but I always get very frustrated. Last time I worked at Sonic (last summer) the big thing was angry soccer moms complaining that the tea wasn't fresh enough. I got 2 or 3 a week. This one woman, AFTER I told her I was so sorry and that I would replace it with new tea, went off on me and told me I needed to "get my act together" because she has a bad experience whenever she comes to Sonic. Maybe she thought I was a manager? I don't know. I brushed it off, but it stung a little because I know what a good customer service-type person I am. My sister worked as a hostess for Bennigan's and said that waitresses were always in the kitchen crying after people shouted at them. Maybe they should grow thicker skin, yada yada. But I honestly think people see food service people as less of a person or something. I don't know. I can see how many workers end up not being bright and cheery by the end of the day.
Then you sucked at customer service. If he ordered a drink with easy on ice, Sonic should fulfill that order or state that they can not fulfill the order allowing him the option of ordering something else or nothing. My grandmother use to have problems drinking really cold drinks, and it pissed me off when they would bring one with ice when we specifically told them to put no ice in it.
