What era are we playing in here? In a more modern setting, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain can both be canceled out by Hakeem and Shaq. In you're playing in the Wilt/Bill era, that team would turn the ball over on every possession. The referees would call a carry on Jordan every time down the court.
I would use... Oscar Robertson Kobe Tmac Hakeem YAO Wilt has seen nothing like yao.. A bigger.. (possbily stronger) man with more skill. I don't care.. Prime Hakeem is simply UNSTOPPABLE. Kobe would KILL himself to try to outplay MJ. And that's about all you can ask for. I think oscar and magic is a wash. Tmac would have trouble guarding bird, but bird also can't guard Tmac.
You got that right. Magic was a 6'9 pure point guard. Honestly there was no position he couldnt play.
In what, a one on one game ? I dont see how anyone could get "eaten alive" with help like Hakeem, Shaq, and Garnett behind him. Besides that, if Nash could easily be devoured I doubt he would be reigning ( and most likely two time) MVP of the NBA. Magin Johnson was not an outside shooter, and he would not have been able to drive inside with that frontline. Nash is a good fastbreak defender, and although he would get beaten in this area by magic, it would not be by that great of a margin.
LOL. Wilt will each Duncan for dinner and should foul him out in 20 min if Duncan dares to play Wilt one on one.
Bruce Lee Chuck Norris Jack Bauer MacGyver OJ They will not only beat your team, they would f--k them up
nash cant defend magic ....one on one or on a fast break. magic would drive and dish or just post him up
I can give your team a serious run for its money with this squad: G: Michael Cooper - Magic, try to post this guy up - good outside shooter too. G: Oscar Robertson - he can run the offense F: Julius Erving - Bird couldn't cover the Dr. in transition F: Tim Duncan - IMO, the greatest PF of all time C: Shaq or Hakeem - sorry, but even Bill Russell wouldn't be able to stop a prime Shaq bashing into him in the post, and Hakeem would give Wilt a test on defense - as would Lew Alcindor... Reserves: Rodman - ace defender/rebounding savant; Rick Barry - shooter extraordinaire; Kevin Mchale - another ace defender and a good scorer; Isiah Thomas; Dikembe Mutumbo if I'm getting murdered by Wilt inside. You have more raw scorers - but why have five scorers? There's only one ball. My team defensively I think outshines yours.
You see, playing for a long time together pays more than assambling great talents together. Proof? Team USA in 2004 Olyimpics.
i didn't really give this mutch thought in my first post, so i'll make 3 changes. i'd like to change my center to kareem. wilt himself said that kareem was the only player he ever needed help guarding. i would consider that an even matchup. my advantage is dream against russell. my 2 favorite players of all time. russell was an awesome defender, but not one person was ever able to stick with hakeem. ewing, mourning, robinson, shaq, none of them came close. russell would be tough, but advantage to hakeem. take into consideration that russell in his prime has never seen moves like the dream shake before. tmac vs bird is interesting. neither would be able to cover eachother. no way can bird stay in front of tmac. tmac would find it hard to stop bird in the post. jordan beats everyone. it takes a whole team to slow him down. i would like to make my second change here. i'd put in scottie pippin. jordan said that scottie is the only player that slows him down one on one. still advantage to you. so far we're even with one advantage each. at the PG spot i'm making my last change. i'm bringing in payton in his prime. both he and magic are excellent passers and rebounders. payton would be able to help double on jordan. imagine pippin and payton trapping someone. even jordan would have to admit that doesn't sound too good. leaving magic open is ok since he isn't a great shooter.
