I dont why but i like. However, knowing Coach gundy,i cant see how he woul be interested in a shoot first PG. Van Exel is the replica of Francis just older and alot less value!

More years on a contract is worse. Atleast in this case. Howard is making only a mil less than Mo T.

yeah, but if all we need to give up for him are Spoon + Pike?

he's getting old and doesn't look good on scoreboard but he provides leadership that we really need after the trade. remember he sucked last season but really lifted the Mavs in playoffs? that's what we need with Yao & T-Mac being our top 2. Billups isn't a traditional pg either but could be a JVG guy, and Van Exel too.

The only way I would give up Mo Taylor is if we get Brian Grant from Miami...

The trade would benefit both teams in many ways...

Miami would have a low post scorer and a mid-range shooting power forward...

The Rockets would get a tough, hard nosed defender with alot of experience...

I actually like the combo of J. Howard and M. Taylor...they should split the minutes evenly... it would give us two veterens that can score and play as role players whether starting or coming off of the bench... they both can shoot and can move without the ball...

we need to get Yao a back up...that's why i wouls support Taylor leaving if we get a player like Brian Grant...

I like the MoT for Booth and Daniels deal. Makes sense for both sides.

If we follow it up by trading Howard for Jerome Williams, and signing McDyess, Keon Clark, or Eddie Griffin, then we're in good shape:

    Yao/Booth
    McDyess/JYD/Spoon
    JJ/Boki/AG
    T-Mac/Pike
    Daniels/Gaines

We may need to add someone vie the veteran's minimum to play in the backcourt. Overall, that team is very good, defensively and offensively.

Yeah, pretty much Etan Thomas and Jerome Williams should be the Rockets number one and two PF options which are definetly possible of getting. I like Brian Grant and all but he makes a lot of money and I dont see the rockets giving up more to match salaries. Does anybody know how much Thomas and Williams are makin? In my opinion, these are the guys who would solidify our greatly.

I think trading Mo for one of Seattle's overpaid centers is one of the most possible options. They obviously have too many of those, and they are completely lacking at the 4. There's Calvin Booth, Vitaly Potepenko, and Jerome James to choose from. Of the three, I think Vitaly has the most nose and flexibility to bang at either spot, Jerome James is probably the better rebounder per minute and is most disgruntled in Seattle, and Booth is too skinny and moody. Vitaly and Jerome have 2 years left on contracts and Booth has 3.

Our HUGE problem : Mo makes over 8 mil for another 4 years. His original deal was 6 years 48.8 mil, signed 08/07/01. So, in addition to taking a bad contract for a center, we need to take another one to balance and we need to offer additional incentive to take the additional years. Perhaps if we add Pike we take two of their yucky guys - Mo + Pike for James and Potepenko. I don't see much else they could "Throw in" except maybe Ansu Seasay. Everyone else has some value.

For us : there's some value in going from Mo's 4 years to two 2 year deals. Especially because YAO MING needs that money in two years.

NEWS : SONICS LISTENING TO OFFER FROM NY TO TRADE KURT THOMAS FOR JEROME JAMES AND # 12 PICK - VESCEY (comment - guess that's Vescey goofing, but both players are out there.)

    ---------------------------------------------------

Now, having helped the Sonics with that problem, they owe us a favor in return. They have an incentive to sign and trade us Brent Barry with the TE. They can use that to get another player they like, we can bid more than any other team.

Then we can use the MCE on a power forward.

quit dreaming - the Cavs got McInnis for a reason - Ollie is a weak PG - and McInnis and Lebron are fitting in well together (they almost made the playoffs last year)

Another year might be able to boost up MoT's trade value, but it will be hard to make a deal with MoT in it. His contract is long and expensive, he doesn't rebound, and he doesn't play defense.

One thing I forgot to add in the Mo T - Seattle trade above :

With the TE they acquired in the Seperate Brent Barry deal, Seattle can now reel in Kurt Thomas, who they were looking at with Jerome James before. Seattle turns Potepenko and James into Thomas and Taylor. That should help make Allen happier, and they can make another run.

New York can use the TE to make a run at Wallace or Okur, or just reduce the crazy payroll.

MoT + Pike for Shawn Marion
JJ + TE for Howard Eisley

    potential 04/05 PHO savings = $4,07 Mil

But seriously, there is no one noteworthy that we
would want to trade MoT for that we couldn't
simply offer the TE and obtain (or sign as a FA).

If Mo stays the 6th man, he might make a run at
    6thMOY. Maybe, Maybe no.

Yeah, he's a dinosaur making 13.8 million dollars. I wanted to do it with Mo + the Te, but I guess you can't. So, if Mo makes 8, then we need to come up with 5.8 mil more garbage to do it. Hey! Clarence ! How do you like Chicago!

MoT + Spoon = Antonio Davis
    TE = Ty Chandler

Yeah, that's the ticket. Unfortunately, I have trouble seeing what Chicago now does with the TE, that makes them want to do this.

Any ideas? They have Hinrich, Crawford, Deng, MoT? , Curry. They have JYD. Who do they target with the TE? Okur?

Maybe if we gave them the TE for JYD they do it and we get the exit in two years, with AD's money for Yao.

Steep, but sometimes you gotta pay. Not a bad deal for the Rox.

Taylor is the low post threat when Yao leaves the game. And he's a good one. I'll hold onto the bad contract.
