    (1) If Red Auerbach would take the job, you bet your sweet bippy I'd offer it to him.

    (2) Garner IS an Astro. Garner knows an emotion other than "dour," is optimistic, and knows when to publicly pat his players on the back. The result is getting them to play their best. Mr. Van Gundy can't do any of those things.

(2a) Garner: 1.5 years as manager, three playoff series victories.
Mr. Van Gundy: 2+ years as manager, zero playoff series victories.

    1) I don't have a "bippy". Honestly, I don't even know what one is.
    2) If you support PJ - Does he have a history as a Rocket? I don't think so. In fact, he didn't even have a history of playing for the Bulls...although that didn't stop him from winnig SIX championships with them. Your point??? If you thing a former player should be coach then it should be Hakeeem or Rudy...not PJ.
2a) Who cares? Garner turned the team around...JVG turned the team around...I wish JVG would have beat the Mavs last year, but for some reason the refs didn't seem to think that Michael Finley was... "Out-Of-Bounds".

    (2) Yes, Tomjanovich should be the Rockets coach. However, if Le$ prefers an "outsider," the organization should go for the best "outsider."

(2a) "Who cares?" A team cannot win an NBA championship without winning a playoff series. A playoff series is not about one call. Championship-caliber coaches do not allow their teams to blow 2-0 leads with 3 games at home, and do not allow their teams to lose game sevens by ridiculous amounts.

I can't believe you guys always fall for EDCs bait. Especially the posters who have credibility. Posters who respond to EDC's yearly garbage should be fined and suspended just like TO! :)

When we start winning again, EDC will go back into hiding. And we won't miss him just like last year.

Man oh man, your going to get a classic moment. It's like deja vu from last year after the 6-11 start. It's not how you start, it's how you finish. You know why they're losing? It's because T-Mac's hurt, Sura's hurt and their still adjusting to adding 4 new players to the rotation. When T-Mac and Sura are healthy and Alston, Anderson, Swift, and Head have adjusted to their roles, the new system, the new coach, and their new teammates the Rockets will start to click and everything will be fine. Wanting to get rid of anybody at this point or saying that the season is over like the moron who posted the tombstone is stupid! If you think about posting something doom and gloom, just look at the bottom of the pages at the classic moments and realize this sort of talk in November is r****ded.

Oh and I love EDC using John P. Lopez like some kind of expert. Lopez was the same idiot that buried the Astros on June 1st with the tombstone on the front page of the sports section. Not only that, but he's an Aggie, what does he know! Were not even 1/8th of the way through the season, giving up now is r****ded. And anyone wanting Red Auerbach needs to have their head examined. The guy is about 2 steps from death, yes he has 9 rings, but do you actually believe that A, he'd want to come back, B, that he's healthy enough to come back, and C, that he'd be effective if he came back? The game changes and evolves over time. The game Auerbach coached is not the game that's being played today. He'd be lost, confused, and overmatched if he were to coach again today. JVG is a great coach, be patient, things will turn around, much like they did last year.

Just a little public service request -

If you're responding to edc, pleeeeeaaase stop quoting him. It defeats the whole purpose of having him on our ignore lists. Don't force those of us who have him ignored to read about his love affair with Phil Jackson. Thanks! ;)

Tim Breaux has something to say...listen up...

JVG called...wants to know if we can trade fans...
Maybe that would solve the problem.

Tim Breaux has spoken...now I am going back to the bench...all is well in Rocketland

I liked that quote from the Rockets employee for the pre-season open practice - along the lines of: "Van Gundy not only doesn't like open practices, he would close the regular season games to the public if he could."

    Who needs fans?
