I hope they don't have much trade value, I don't want them traded

Sorry you don't like the "way" we are winning

    Consider yourself enlightened

Never said that, just as nobody ever said "it's not ok to talk about tony kemp", as you claimed.

It's ok for people to hypothesize about ways to improve the team, bud. You don't have to carry the burden of policing the forum looking for anybody who isn't 100% satisfied with the exact roster as currently constructed, and hitting them with a quick dose of snark. Players come and go, don't get too attached. You're setting yourself up to be in tears every season.

It's absolutely ok for us to talk about what we would like to do to improve the team. It's absolutely ok for us to talk about our ideas. I mean this is a sports forum, discussion about the team is why we are here....

Problem is, it doesn't matter what a thread is started about right now, it will come back to Altuve's inadequacies and how horrible Carter and Gattis are and how we could replace them with Singleton. Doesn't matter if it is the game thread, a thread about Tony Kemp, the minor league thread...heck, I could start a thread about how great it was to see JR Richards overcome his problems and get his life straightened out.....and it would be turned into Altuve, Carter and Gattis and how we can replace them/trade them....

I knew when the team got good the forum would be garmified, so I should have been ready for it I suppose

No...you said "2 singles with runners on 2nd and 3rd". The first single plates either one or two runs. The second single would plate the second run or simply advance the guy that hit the first single.

That being written, I now see where you may be talking about two separate innings. In that case, you are still talking about 2 definite runs as there is no guarantee the runner on second is going to score on a single.

What do you expect to be discussed in a Tony Kemp thread? Just everybody giving high fives over how great he's playing in the minor leagues?

Seems pretty reasonable that where he would fit in on the major league roster is being discussed.

I'll accept Kemp high fives if they need a landing zone.

I haven't seen him throw from the OF yet, but he's answered every other question I had about him playing out there, and then some.

Fair point; position makes Kemp/Altuve a more obvious discussion - but there's merit in the idea that this is a better line-up with Kemp/Altuve than Kemp/Gattis (assuming Kemp's ML success translates).

I think we all (myself included) have to get used to the idea that this FO may simply not favor more conventional baseball thinking, such as having a set line-up every night. They seem content to mix-and-match on a daily basis, riding the hot hand. It's why they may not care that three of their everyday hitters are totally redundant, or that they don't really have a traditional lead-off hitter... Or maybe this is all a pack of band-aids being placed on a line-up they never thought would be ready to contend....

It makes sense and absolutely no sense to me all at the same time.

I had "each time" in my post indicating two separate events. I will concede that there is a small chance that 2nd runner doesn't score, but the odds of getting more runs from 2 singles with men at 2,3, with two outs, each time is greater than the odds with a HR one time and a K the next time in these situations.

I would've rather seen him called up so he can provide another spark in the absence of Springer.
