Regardless if it's 10, 15 or 20ppg, he should've been picked over Reed Sheppard. I think even a blind man can see that past the numbers.
I don’t think missing on Reed hurt us that much as long as Whitemore can become a good player Hopefully we draft Maluach or Harper
Man, stop getting so hyped over whatever the media tells you. Castle would barely play here for Ime. We're not happy to lose games like the Spurs. We're not willing to swallow his mistakes. Most importantly, he's nowhere near Sengun or Amen and both those guys can't shoot. So he's going to be the one who sits when Sengun and Amen are playing. He's also very error prone defensively. He would be getting 10-15 minutes, he would be cold and minutes inconsistent so his stats would be a mess. Same exact thing. And btw if Reed Sheppard didn't have to play any defense and got to play at the 2 next to CP3 and Wemby, he would look dramatically better too. It's just a project. We've been through this with 10 draft picks. It takes longer than you think. It just takes longer than you think. It doesn't happen the same way for everyone. It doesn't go linear. Big jumps and setbacks are always possible. Just delay your expectations by one measly season and he'll be everything you wanted. Otherwise you're just going to stress for one year and then say "it's about time" > when all along you could have been relaxed and said "I'm just going to expect things a year later, he's a project like any project".
LOL - over react much? One draft doesn't matter - none of those players you mentioned are HUGE difference makers. If Reed doesn't pan out we still have tons of young talent. DD
It would be crazy for us not to go hard for Maluach to back up Sengun or possibly take over if Sengun doesn’t work out Harper or anyone else would be cool to make up for Reed/Castle
u think Harper will be there? agree we need a backup for Sengun asap. I’ll sign Capela if it’s a good deal.
True, we still have young talent, however I don't like to totally miss out on a Top 3 pick. It can cost you at some point. I'm sure the Rockets were offered various trade proposals for that pick. And since the talent was in the middle and latter parts of the draft, trading back or trading out should have been the decision. This is how teams like Miami and Memphis continue to find players throughout the draft and in FA. I think the Rockets have become too reliant on analytics in their player assessment.
Do I think its possible for Reed to eventually become a productive player? Anything is possible. He's young, he's still learning and he's not getting consistent mins, so it's possible as time goes on, he can turn it around. However, normally about this time, you tend to see something. Even Ime said he is seeing the same things as before, no progress. That's why I said, I need to see something by next Pre-season.
I have no idea what picks we have anymore with trades and swaps but I would be trying to trade up or so for Maluach. I only say Harper cause I’d be willing to trade up for him
If you look at one of my original post, you would see that Steve Nash had the one trait I think ALL small guards need and that is exceptional handles. I don't see that in Reed. So, no I wouldn't have thought that about Steve Nash early on.
You know, if you actually contributed to the site you could get the right to edit your posts. You could then just change your post to remove the completely incorrect numbers instead of ignoring all of the people who point out your lies.
