Highly unlikely. If the Rockets do draft Ming then maybe the 15th pick as well as KT and TMo might get you to move up a spot up or two in the draft. Then take the best available SF available. If this happens then the Rockets are in great shape for the upcoming season. This scenario is the most likely to happen.
I posted this idea in another thread. Bash, praise, dismiss it, whatever. Doc Rocket seems to think Odom or Rashard can be brought in along with Ming. He knows the team is at least working on this. Can we force Chicago to give up Jamal Crawford if the trade weren't too much of a joke? For example, "we won't draft Jay Williams if you show us a little love; otherwise, we just make a deal with the Clips." Hence all these "leaks" about Odom, Kandi, etc. So, maybe, #15 + Drew obligation for Crawford, then send Crawford with Mo Taylor (who once nearly signed with the Sonics) to Seattle for signed-and-traded Rashard? How teams benefit: Jay Williams makes Crawford expendable (somewhat). The Bulls get draft picks and some extra cap room. Crawford goes home to Seattle. Payton won't last forever. Seattle can deal Baker back East to some frontcourt-starved team, as they tried at the trade deadline (Baker broke his toes just before the deadline, I believe). All this hinges, of course, on Mo Taylor and do the Sonics still want him. They do have Rashard's replacement in Radmanovic, if they feel Rashard wants to leave.
HOU gets R.Lewis/C.Booth CHI gets G.Rice/#15 (Duncan Derby focused salary) SEA gets J.Crawford/E.Robinson/T.Hassell/D.Bagaric/#30 TRADE ACCEPTED (under CBA; probably not by Seattle fans, though)
It also hinges on how much $ Rashard Lewis wants. MoT + Crawford ~= $9.1m. Rashard's agent says he wants Maxed - $11m+. Another impact is that we can't just "give" the Sonics #15. The draft will have preceeded this trade as Lewis will not renew his option and can't be signed until July 17th. The player the Rockets choose can be traded but it is not the Sonics making the decision.
