Can we play all the way to a 5th seed? And can Yao make all NBA 3rd team?

    It's arguable that Nowitzki has had a better season than Yao, infact, I like Yao's a lot better (yes, Nowitzki scores more on an offense oriented team, but Yao plays way better defense and forces the other teams to adjust to him). J.O'Neal also plays PF on his team with Foster as their center.

    We are playing 11 out of our next 17 games away, and only one of those games are against an Eastern Conference team, so I am not trying to get too optimistic yet about finishing 6th or even 5th in the standings but things are looking good so far.

    jo is a better rebounder and shot blocker, but i think he shots a way lower precent than yao.

    The Rockets should meet the Wolves in the Playoffs. We're not going to get homecourt regardless.

    I don't think that we should strategically win or lose games, but I think a Minnesota matchup would be best.

    We'd better push for 5th or 6th seed really hard. Minny is trying hard to avoid us. They just lost to Portland at home! Spurs also losing today. Minny, Spurs and Lakers all get a shot at the 2nd seed. We are 3-4 games from this pack. We even get a shot at 4th. Of course, we have a tough road schedule ahead. If they can continute recent performance, nothing is impossible.

    OK, I have doubts that the Rockets will win reach the 50-win plateau with their remaining schedule, but I think reaching the 5th seed is a realistic goal for this team. Does anybody know what the tie breaker scenario with Memphis would be if we beat them in our final match-up bringing the season series to 2-2 (I'm pretty sure that's right but correct me if I'm wrong)? With Memphis sitting 1.5 games above Houston right now and with under 20 games to go, the tie breaker with Memphis may end up being important.

    When I raised the question about a week ago, everyone was laughing at me! KG would never lose a game on purpose, right?

    Well, I watched the game again today and Minny was not even trying to play hard. Realistically, I think that neither Lakers or Minny wants us in the first round. I also believe that even with the success the Spurs has against us, they don't want us in the first round.

    The Rockets are peaking at the right time. It's not unrealistic for them to overtake Memphis for #6. We all know that the playoffs are dominated by half court offense. With Yao in the middle, 2 shooters lurking outside, along with SF3's penetration and P&R we run, and the trade mark JVG D, we probably are one of the 3 best half court teams in the league (Lakers, and Spurs the other two).
