Weber State product and veteran guard Eddie Gill, who played with Indiana for several seasons recently, will go to training camp with New Jersey according to HoopsHype.com

What makes you think Rafer is a pass-first guard? I remember him as a shoot-first, jack up a stupid floater, miss wide open 3 pointers kind of PG. TMAC averaged more assists per game in less minutes than Rafer did. So no thanks, you Rafer defenders need to get over him.

I'll take SF3, Mike James, and Aaron Brooks over Rafer anytime. I don't think there was a player that made me agonize in the 4th quarter more than Rafer last year.

Sadly, I don't think we can move him due to his legal troubles, and the fact that other teams know that our roster is stacked and cuts will be made.

Why are you blaming Rafer for this? That was his role. He was specifically assigned by JVG to shoot and shoot a lot. Who else on our team was going to shoot the open shots? That's hardly Alston's fault. And he had to play 40+ minutes because we didn't have anyone else that could run the offense.

Reality is, he's still a pass-first guard naturally, and you'll see that this year now that he's not being forced to take all these shots. He doesn't jack up uncalled for shots. He's also a great post entry passer.

I agree. Rafer first thought to shot, than to pass the ball. Ok he had a lot of wide open 3-pointers but hell, he couldn't even make them. Tracy had to be a playmaker cause Alston played Tracy's role. He wasn't a playmaker last year, really.

That was his fault but maybe not in 100%. JVG also sucked and he let Rafer shot and miss...But Rafer should be a playmaker and no questions we should blame him.

Its not like he is losing value the longer we keep him. Anyone that trades for him knows what they are gonna get by seeing him play with us last year and the year before. We are in training camp people! We dont need to get rid of anyone yet. Lets see how it goes. Lets see that steve or mike dont get severe injuries before we throw away the contingency plan at pg. You all realize.....the quicker we unload him, the worse deal we are gonna get.
