Why not see if Miami would d a Howard for Posey deal? He would be perfect for this team. Maybe Shaq would like to play with his old Michigan alum. He is an unrestricted free agent next year and not likely to return to Miami were he isnt starting. He would start here for sure. I know I know ***** I hate were this team is right now.
even idoit knows we need Jamal Magloire as the best fit at our PF, while the world all knows rox has the worst management in this planet. yeah rox is ruled by pigs, dude,
If we played against the 2004-2005 versions of the teams in the Western Conference this year, I'd totally agree with you. But it's 2006 now, and several teams have gotten better this offseason, while we have not. Hopefully, the front office will fix this situation before opening day. I'm not holding my breath on that, though. After what we've witnessed so far, I'm setting my expectations really low for the rest of the offseason (low as in "expectations for the movie 'Little Man' low"). I only pray that Rockets can clear the ridiculously low bar I've set for them. (Please, please surprise me, CD.)
Perhaps you were not following - Portland offered 2 picks to trade Miles for Howard- we turned it down!!!!!!!!
Given his multiple injuries it seems unlikely that TMac's performance will match what he produced 2 years ago.
Perhaps you were not following-- Portland offered the 30th and 31st pick to trade Miles for Howard AND THE 8TH PICK- we turn it down!!!!!!!
a couple guys that deserve mention is John Salmons and Alan Anderson. Salmons had a good year last year even though his stats don't really show it. He has already admitted he's not a good fit in Philly. He has a great handle and can play the point effortlessly like he did in college all four years. Still managed 3 assists per game in 25 min/per and got to the rim at will. Did I mention he's 6-6. Anderson is your typical 2 guard with a really nice jumper and good range on it. Averages 90% from the free throw and plays solid defense. He'll be in his second year and started to come on at about the half way mark last year. On another note, I don't see how we didn't give M.J. his trade kicker and his option. It's basically the same deal we gave Swift. At least Mike would work his ass off and earn it, he's never injured, and his jump shot is money. The trade kicker was just to provide him with a little insurance he doesn't get shipped out, AGAIN. I thought it was reasonable. How can JVG and CD justify paying Vin Baker millions, Ward millions, Sura millions, take on two additional years on Battier's contract, but worry about spending when it came to M.J.?? Especially when we're trying to win it all next year.
Yeah, maybe we can offer Clutch the Bear, and our trade exception for Antonio Daniels... WE HAVE NOTHING TO TRADE!!!!
Apparently, there is something to trade... Juwan Howard's contract last for 3 years and 21 mil. He can still help a team that needs post scoring and, more important, there are plenty of other players who don't fit their teams needs and those with biggger/longer contracts. He won't be dealt for great value, but perhaps something useful. Luther Head was rumored to be a part of potential draft day deals with ATL and MIN, too.. the TPEs can be used to absorb contracts from teams close to the cap, and there are always future picks.
So, Howard for SJax, or Howard for DMiles. Who else would it be possible to trade Howard for. Although I would do it in a heartbeat, I do not think Indy wants any part of Juwan for SJax or anybody else on their roster for that matter. However, Howard for DMiles is probably something that Portland would do. But we won't. So, what are the realistic trades for Juwan?
Based on the info trickling from Management, it seems they would be willing to take on an additional 10 million in salary at the most; provided the right players come along via trade. Our team salary currently stands around 55 million. The luxury threshold for this year is 65 million. I wouldn't expect them to exceed that figure.
Because our owner is a cheap b*stard.... I would Trade Les for Mark Cuban in a matter of seconds.... I don't care what people on this board think about Mark Cuban but that dude has alot of heart for this team.. And even though they make it very very far every year he's willing to aquire players to make them better... When was the last time you saw Les Alexander get Irate over a Bad Blatant call against the Rox... The dude needs to sell the team...Rockets would stay in Houston of course...
Yes, I recommend Carol Dawson + Cash Consideration + Our next six 1st round draft picks for Jerry West & Kevin McHale.
