Note that I never said Stojakovic isn't a good player...just not enough bang for the buck. If the league is giving Mobley $8m, Bobby Simmons $10+m, and Larry Hughes max $...I don't see why Stojakovic would go into a negotiation feeling worth less than any of these 3. And that alone means we need more than 1 dimension from him for minimum $8+M/yr. (Hey, we've got aging players to replace...bang for the buck is important IMHO)!

Lastly, Peja may be 28 but he's been playing ball professionally for a very long time. And for nearly all of that time, he has had a summer commitment to Serbia-Montenegro. IOW, he's a high-mileage 28. If you have watched him closely over the years, you will see a slight but noticeable downward trend that isn't showing up much on the stat sheet. But it does show up in on court effort. It's very slight...but it's there.

I think coming in and being second or third fiddle behind Yao and TMac could certainly rejuvinate him. Like you, I normally don't value one trick pony's that much but you have to admit...his trick is pretty damn good and would complement Yao on offense probably better than anyone.

What would defenses do if Yao could pass the ball back out to both TMac and Peja? As much as Yao likes to pass the ball back outside I can't help but think that they would be a lethal combination...or trio when combined with TMac.

There is not enough players on the court to double TMac, Peja and Yao.

I have seen enough can't miss experiments miss to say that anything is a can't miss, but this is just about as close as I can't miss experiment that I could think of.
