did we forget about the shoe deal or something? Tell Landry, if he signs with us he'll get a shoe deal for 2 mil a year, we give him 2 mil, that makes him making 4 mil for the next 3 years! That's fair. Also, tell Arenas to sign with our MInimum, and Yao will hook him up with the Shanghai government and He can invest overthere, maybe buy a factory or two to make his own brand! He has big ego and He would be interested!

    Yah Morey get it DONE

According to Jonathan Feigan, they could only sign Landry to one or two years after signing Francis. They judged that it would be easier to re-sign him after one year rather than two, which hopefully will turn out to be correct. They didn't expect him to be so expensive after his rookie year, but we can hope he'll be an even more valuable player next summer when he's already on a long-term contract.

I'm the biggest Landry fan here but at the time of camp last year it was dumb to guarantee your 2nd rd pick money because we had an abundance of good players in camp and there was a pretty good chance he wasn't going to make the team. Hindsight should never be how you judge a person's decision.

Five stars for this thread - I will donate but only so that I have enough money for James (LeBron) left over in 2010.

Hey rocket fans just joined and I was in Austin lurking for years....Thanks for the entertainment and devotion.

I did not get to watch as much as I wished I could have but would I be wrong in saying that Landry is undersized but athletic?

With a bum knee wouldn't that make him less athletic and not worth binding our payroll on a risk...seems like we have overpaid on risks for years now.

I loved his spark and athleticism but I believe he should not get big money if he doesn't consistently rebound and especially hit JUMPSHOTS.

JUMPSHOTS are important for this team with Yao taking up so much room in the paint.

I believe the Rockets have learned their lesson in overpaying in the past and it is not unreasonable that they decided to wait to invest in a guy with a history of knee problems until he has proven himself.

I believe Landry proved he could be a contributor but you have to admit he wasn't consistent enough to garner all the money this teams needs to get to a championship level.

IN THE REAL WORLD WE ALL CHECK OUT A USED CAR BEFORE WE PAY ALOT FOR IT....and usually we pay less than the asking price.

If Landry cannot be reasonable about this business...isn't it time to package him and get a proven commoditty?
