Dallas has exactly two guys you might be able to call 2way players and both of them hardly ever score, so that's kinda debatable.

By the way you shouldn't be comparing Bogans and Korver to Marion, you should be comparing them to Stevenson and Peja. There's no differences between those pairs of guys, your assertion is just wrong. Marion is also very comparable to Deng.

Exactly. What is the point of a Top 5 Defense
If our Offense goes to Bottom 5

When we got JVG . . .the ASSUMPTION was .. the offense will TAKE CARE OF ITSELF
then with Adelman . . it was the opposite
[Adelman wasn't horrible at defense though]

How about a BOTH WAYS type of coach

QUESTION: Has Morey put the coaches in a position to be successful?
[Yep . . . Morey is on the hot seat for me. . . ]

No it isn't. There are always offensive sacrifices involved when you focus too much on defense.

I make it even simpler. EFFORT wins champtionships. Defense is an indicator of effort. But defense by itself is overstated most of the time. Rebounds (offensive and defensive), defensive rotations, screens and backddor cuts, diving for loose balls, assists and trusting teammates. Everyone must contribute OFF THE BALL as well as with the ball. Team effort and hustle.

Or as Bull says ... HUFFORT. Huffort wins championships.

Bottom line though ... you must be able to SCORE the ball in order to win the game. You can have the best defense in the world, but if you cannot put the ball in the basket, you cannot win. You can hold your opponent to zero points, but if you also score zero points, nothing happens. Therefore offense is objectively more important than defense.

That's why it's called basketball, not defenseball.

If blocked shots, charges, and turnovers were worth actual points, then defense could win games. But as it is, you must put the ball in the hoop. Therefore, offense reigns supreme.

don't you think your logic has a flaw.

you can score millions pts but if your opponent scores exactly same pts as you do, are you going to win? according to your logic, defense reigns supreme.

there is a reason alot ppl keep saying defense wins champions. you won't hear offense wins champions. those ppl are not normal ppl like you and me. those ppl are from bball circle.

Actually, according to your logic, defense and offense are both equally important. However, on planet Earth, defense is much more consistent and less reliant on chance than offense.

This is why it's been shown that defense is about 50% more of a factor in producing champions than offense is.

remember, we are talking about nba level, no team will score zero pts. every team has a few players who can score as easy as you can imagine if you don't play defense. your opponent % of making shots will drop as your defense is picked up. offense is more or less tied to individual talent as well as game flow so you often see a team scored a bunch then missed a few. sometimes we call hot hands. well, defense is complete different side of games. defense demands effort and focus from players. you don't see ppl called a good defender a hot hand. whoever plays better defense and makes opponent score less, the chance of winning is increased. don't expect a nba team can consistently and easily outscore other nba team. if you put a nba team vs a ymca team. i have no doubt offense wins games.
