Our Ball handling against SERIOUS playoff pressure is the biggest problem here. Chalmers and cole aren't better overall players than Lin or Bev but they are pesky defenders that cause problems within Miami's Defensive System. Our guards are turnover prone against high pressure defensive teams and OKC and SPURS exploit it alot ... Specially in the playoffs. -- It also has to do with proper coaching and sorry to say I don't think Mchale is a decent coach but will he ever lead a team to a championship ?? -- eh I dont know. Right now Miami would beat us in 6 if we had home court and in 5 if they had home court. Basketball is a team sport and although we match up well on paper, performing when it counts is something Miami does really well as a Team.
and you think they will simply allow us to score on the other end with those two in the paint? There will be no spacing on offense either, unless Omer or Howard have developed a 17-19 foot jumper that i don't know of. Not to mention incase Miami plays Hack a big guy lol.
year after year people say the same exact thing, and year after year people like you eat crow... stop eating crow...
your a fool if you think Duncan is done. I would trade Asik and Lin for Duncan even at his current age.
love the enthusiasm, but the squad hasn't even played one game yet...wait and see...also think our focus should be the spurs, thunder etc.
good point made by the video and analysis. Now who can shoot like reddick and anderson on our team to create the spacing ? Also those pesky turnovers that they keep referring to are caused by bad decisions against a very good defense. The ball handling of Jameer nelson is better than our ball handlers but i guess decision making is a toss up. -- in no way am i saying we are worse than that orlando team. We are actually significantly better as a team than that orlando team butttt.... we are not built that way and we will not be playing that style. 2 simple points 1) Heat are better now than they were in that video. 2) This Thread is referring to NBA Finals not a regular season game.
agreed our biggest hurdle is what do we have to do to get James Harden to play like an All Star against OKC. He looks really uncomfortable every time we play them ... specially in the closing minutes.
Rockets can. Asik and Howard would be grabbing all the rebounds and controlling the paint. Miami would resort to jumpshots or playing small ball. In that case, you know how well Houston plays small ball. Only thing that can save Miami would be their flops.
No, not unless Chandler Parsons becomes Larry Bird and Lin becomes a better version of what he was last year. Even then, Dwight needs to have a better year then he did last year and our bench players need to improve also. Winning in the NBA has almost always centered around having the undisputed, best player on your team. The Detroit team in 04 was an anomaly, but far from the norm. The reality is that you need the best player in the league on your team to have a real shot, and right now we have star power, certainly more than we've had since Tmac/Yao, but we don't have a player as good as Lebron James. Maybe Harden or Howard will become that, but not yet.
It's not easy, but it's possible. An old, injured Spurs nearly finished the job, and it's not like the Heat are getting any younger, either.
Our guards must learn to play with better ball security, we topped the charts in turnovers last year. The Miami Heat thrives off stuff like turnovers so we'd sink before we swam. Morey still needs to add a strong defensive wing player to the bench as well.
