There's a reason why people enjoyed the style of basketball of the 70's and 80's and it isn't because short shorts and high socks.
^ fair enough. but offense isnt the only part of the game that people like to watch. Sure it gets the glitz and glamour and casual fans enjoy it more. But some people enjoy watching a great defensive team at work. THe 85 bears. the ravens a few years back. The astros and their pitching (watching everett turn plays is a sight to behold...or even ozzie, people didnt watch him for his offense). i just think the 'fun' factor is a bit overplayed. if you think he's a better coach then fine, but dont use fun as a reason.
If Vspan break down in front of Van Gundy and start calling him Daddy, that might work. Task#1 for vspan is to change his name to Van-Span.

Fun has everything to do with it. If you had to wash your car and had a choice of a machine wash at your corner exxon or a charity wash with Power Dancers in their unis, which one would you pick? I guess you could pick the machine wash if you have an overly jealous significant other and you have a fascination with the sensors that ensure the car and the brushes are in the proper position. I on the other hand would choose the latter.
Here's a question that I find more to the point: what difference does it make if he and V-Span can't get along? If JVG's biggest concern is Billy's attidue, we need a new coach.
It may not be his biggest concern but he certainly seems to be focusing alot of attention on it in the media. Why not just say hey I feel for Vspan's frustrations but we have bigger fish to fry end of discussion. But for whatever reason he does feel compelled to speak on it. Maybe we do need a new coach.
