We definitely need tmac. I say shut him down until the playoff comes around. He'll come rescueing us in his shinning armor on shawn bradley back. You guys just watch.

You made your opinion clear earlier in this thread. We all know you feel that this team "CANNOT WIN WITH HIM". Fortunately for us, you really DO NOT know that with any certainty.

Probabilty with T-Mac of last season. Very Good
Proababilty with T-Mac of this season. none
    Probability without T-Mac. low.

The big question. Can T-Mac be the T-Mac of last season?

Forget about championships already. With or without Tmac, this team is no where near a championship.

I think this team could get to the finals without Tmac if they ditched him...

We have Artest and Yao and a great supporting cast. The rockets could trade mac before his value depreciates anymore. I don't dislike Mac, but it's time.

If McGrady goes Marbury, Rockets don't make the playoffs.

As Raheel pointed out in the latest No Layups video. The Rockets are 14-1 when Yao scores 20 or more points and 14-5 when he gets a double in rebounds.

Yao Ming is a vital part to our team as well. He has shown that he can singlehanded beat a defending championship team. But that doesnt change the fact that we need BOTH of our superstars to advance in the playoffs.

Yea and what happens when teams completely eliminate Yao from the game by fronting him, which is exactly what will happen in a playoff series.

Look, last year with a healthy Yao and Tmac I think the team as assembled was a contender, I believe if you remove Tmac and put in a healthy Artest they are as good as last year,.....different but just as good...especially with Brooks and Wafer's emergence.

So, yes they could be a contender.....the key is do they play hard...and do the pieces fit.

Tmac has crap shot selection too, neither he nor Artest is renowned for taking quality shots.

So to me it is a wash...

Tmac, Battier, and Artest are all wings, if we could trade one of them for a quality PG, I think the team would be even better.

Except tmac is a better playmaker than Artest. Thats the difference.

no, they can not. no one on our team is feared down the stretch. tracy mcgrady, in the playoffs, is feared. teams know what he is capable of, they know he can rise up and shoot over them to win the game, they know he can find any open man, they know he can drive in and finish at the rim, so it puts alot more pressure on the defense, they have to think about what he will do, and they react slowly. they double him in the playoffs, they won't double anyone else, they may not even double yao, because his shots, although he is a great shooter, are difficult shots, and they will more than likely live with him making a difficult shot, than a wide open man. but when it is tmac, they know he can get to the rim with ease, you have to believe injured our not tmac is going to suck it up and say F IT i'll play as hard as i can, through as much pain as possible, if i end my career because of it so be it, but he has a chance, and i have to believe he will take the chance for all its worth and play at whatever level is humanly possible. it is still early jan folks, tmac has time to rest, i wouldn't rest him on back to backs, i would rest him for the easy games, the ones that don't matter, like tonight? he should play in the big games, the games that we need to win, the teams we may see in the playoffs.
