no, because rox will win the series against utah in 5 games and in 4 games against NO, then we will lose to lakers in 6.
Yeah it's real frustrating to say what if, but San Antonio and Phoenix are our worst matchups now and they would have been our best had Yao stayed healthy. Hopefully next year we have the full team for the playoffs.
Spurs, Suns, Hornets, 100% Lakers - No. We need Yao for them. Everyone else can be taken care of as we are now. Our best bet is to stay at 5th seed and take the Jazz in the 1st round. NO will have to see either Denver or GS in the first round and either team is likely to knock them off. Denver would be the better match for them cause they got the size to deal with Hornets. An added plus is that we can take Denver easier than GS.
It looks like were gonna face either Lakers or the Jazz. If we face the Jazz then we have a good shot of winning(Although it would be a tough series). If we face the Lakers, it would be tough to face the inside-outside game of kobe and gasol. I'd say our best bet is on the Jazz
It seems likely the Rockets will be facing either the Jazz or Fakers in Round 1, and I give them a decent shot against either team. Especially with home court. The key is our bench. It's been much more productive this season, even post-Yao. If Landry, Head, Jackson, and Hayes all step up, we can knock off a team like Utah.
Agree, alot of their hopefull playoff success is going to hinge on Rafer knocking down his shots especially the 3 ball (nothing has really changed, as Rafer goes so goes the rockets). The rockets have much more talent than last year ie.Scola, Landry and B Jax, but no Yao. They have an open minded coach that is willing to make playoff adjustments and try different lineups. If T-Mac doesn't settle for the jumper and the rockets bring there defense, I'm not afraid of anyone. I would really enjoy another rematch with the Jazz, but the rockets would need the homecourt advantage for sure.
YES! but it will be tough and hard grinding work. Tmac can single handedly carry us there, but we need charles barkley to taunt him before every game
Bumping the personal quote from the last playoff series... If any 2 of 3 of Battier, Alston and Hayes are starters, they are another first round exit. The best you could hope for at this point is that Alston remains injured and Brooks is allowed to play big minutes.
yea i agree i rmbr alston's play in game 7 vs utah...took so many damn shots and like baned 1 three in, our biggest hope is he doesnt come back
I think we can, depending on the team...If we play the Mavs or Jazz, it'll be tough, but I think we can with a solid rotation and a team effort (i.e. somebody other than T-mac hitting their shots)... The Spurs, Sun and Lakers, I say no, but stranger things have happened...I'm glad to be in the playoffs, but until we get out of the first round, I'll be cautiously optimistic...However, once we get that monkey off our back, it'll be hard pressed for any team to beat us...It's a huge mental block for our team, especially T-mac...
