Rockets cannot add a max player simply by letting tracys contract expire. They will only have about 7 million to spend along with lowry and scola being restricted free agents
No way you can say that. Scola, Ariza, Battier (possibly Andre Miller, if Morey does that move), Budinger, and HOPEFULLY Yao, is WAY BETTER than Wade had in Miami. If Adelman can play Yao like Pop plays Duncan, then Yao can be healthy for a serious playoff run.
This was my concern, but seeing as the Rockets clearly want him giving up these pieces + getting Yao + a great supporting cast, I can't imagine he would sign elsewhere w/ a better opportunity than he will have with the Rockets to win a ring.
I would love to get Wade. I love his game, his personality, and just his overall demeanor. Great athlete, great guy! If Morey could get it to happen, I would sh** in my pants.
I agree, my fav player! He's everything this team would need. He would just fit so perfectly in a team that hustles and plays just as hard as he. Perfect superstar leader for this team....but....its just a foolish dream.
2010-2011 Houston Rockets Lineup Andre Miller/Kyle Lowry/Sergio Lull Dwyane Wade/Quentin Richardson/Taylor Trevor Ariza/Chase Budinger/James Jones Luis Scola/Chuck Hayes/Brian Cook Yao Ming/David Andersen/Joey Dorsey Seems pretty good to me.
Before any type of trade for Wade would happen, we would have to get Wade's approval. He would have to agree to resign with the team. No one will trade huge pieces for a one-year rental.
Star players at their peak like Wade are impossible to pry from their teams unless said star is seriously disgruntled. And I haven't read anything to hint that Wade wants out. BTW I wonder if Morey's still interested in Caron Butler, because there seems to be quite a bit of dissatisfaction in the Wizards organization.
Wade will expire too. Sucks to say but it could be a half season rent-a-vet Carlos Beltran type of thing. Same with Chris Bosh. You'd be trading for the inside track to resign them basically... It wouldnt be giving up too much to do it. Would still be good to get some kind of mid-to-long term assets out of it.
I wonder if we can do what the Phillies did with Halladay and do the trade if Wade agree to sign a max contract extension with us for X amount of years. That would obviously be super sweet then.
Absolute 100% will not happen. Miami is the BEST team positioned for the 2010 Free agent season. They have essentially only rookies on their salary cap after this season. They will easily afford 2 max salary free agents, they WILL not trade wade.
Saleem, Maybe I DO value that insured contract of Tracy's a little high.....But it IS the kind of piece that can help turn franchises around. I just see it as exactly the kind of piece that makes it possible for a deal like this to go down. Yao is a major drawing card no doubt, but he is also an asset with an expiring contract and big upside....longshot,but could get dealt for plenty of talent. As you know I wouldn't bring this up except for the aforementioned injuries. Either way Wade would be doing good to play with what we are assembling.
You know this gives them a guarantee of good players. Think of it like this: Lebron's top 3 choices: Cleve, NYK, NJN. We all know it's true no matter what he says and no matter how good/bad those teams are. Bosh is gonna be coveted due to the fact that Lebron will be pretty much going to 1 of those 3 places, thus people will start aiming for Bosh. If Wade gets neither of those guys on his team, he is almost sure to walk (meaning they get the complete shaft) This way they get Landry (and are more likely to resign him), Brooks, and they can still have a possibility of adding a few other solid players or worst case signing Tmac to a 3 year/18 mill deal (seems about reasonable imo, and Tmac hasn't worn out his welcome there yet).
