Bosh falling through is no reason to panic. As others have said, we've got a strong team with Scola and Lowry, and more experience with Martin et al will give the chemistry time to gel. I'm confident DM will keep trolling for value and will seize it if he has the opportunity.
The Celtics did, but they had a superstar in Pierce and drafted another in Rondo. The Heat had Wade - Shaq was a complimentary player. The Lakers had Kobe and that was one lucky trade, never another one like it in the history of the league. The Rox have Yao Ming - the closest thing to a superstar they have, and drafted number 1 BTW..... They also have a myriad of young guys with a lot of talent. Kevin Martin is close to star level, AB is close to star level..... This team is not far away...at least IMO..... DD
I seem to recall a recent post of yours stating we have 4-5 potential all-stars on our team being Budinger, Hill, and i forget who else you listed. Regardless, you have suggested he will be far more than a role player.
Do you seriously believe that Deuce thinks the Rocks "aren't any good?" Why? Because he disagrees with you? Do you seriously believe that Max doesn't think a healthy Yao won't have "any type of impact?" Why? Because he disagrees with you? Do you seriously believe that some of the Rockets fans here are hoping they fail so they can say "See, I told you so." Why? Because they disagree with you? So they can tell you "I told you so!!" That's the most incredible thing I've read in quite a while. You really believe that? And why do you care so much about how many stars your threads get? You mention it often enough. If you really believe what you are writing, why would you care?
Yes, if he continues to develop, I think Chase Budinger has a massive upside and how far he goes is all on him. Will he get there? I have no idea, but I am going to root for him to get there. Hill is in the same boat, he is an athletic FREAK at the PF position, he has a quickness advantage 90% of the nights on the floor, that is a very important advantage. I would not be surprised if they both made an all star game some day, but they will at least be better than they already are....IMO. DD
Bullsh-t. You said he could be "The "IT" Player" and a possible "alpha dog" and by implication, can't be traded. That is laughable on its face but it's what you said. Look foolish? Why? Brooks has shown he can be the highest scorer on a lottery team, if he gets a very high usage rate, making him the 24th most efficient PG in the league - why is this somethign that you are crowing about?
I seriously do think that folks believe the Rockets are not good enough to contend as is.... And they are saying as much..... They may be right too, I just happen to disagree. DD
I do believe he COULD become that, yes. I find it hard to believe that you don't understand the difference between the word "COULD" and "WILL" LOL - Man, WTF ever, you have been in favor of jettising any number of our rookies by slamming them as they struggle...even though most players take 3 years to mature. Patience young padwan, patience. DD
Yes it is....I said "I am sorry they feel the team is not good enough, AS IS"...and I hope they change their minds. Both have stated as much......in this thread and others....Max has been in favor of moving on from Yao.. Not sure why you are jumping in with half the information at your fingertips. And yes, you are also assuming that everyone on here is a Rockets fan...when many are just here to argue...and are not fans of the team. DD
I'm still trying to make sense of the notion that Aaron Brooks can be a Tony Parker because that was the original premise to this thread (i.e. wait and be patient).
Really? That is the thing that you don't agree with? Most improved player in the NBA Nearly 20ppg Led the league in 3pters made 5+ assists per game when starting with offensively challenged players. According to Morey one of the two most asked about Rockets players in trade discusions.... Yeah, he is good....and getting better. And in your sig you believe in Pat Pat, a guy who has done nothing on the NBA stage, and yet, from your post do NOT believe in AB a guy who is thriving on that big stage. Bizzaro world... DD
that would be really impressive if we weren't a lottery team! don't get me wrong...i love AB. i want him to work out. my older kid's favorite player.
We are a lottery team "ONLY" because we were strapped with TMac's contract and Yao was out all year. Do you honestly believe that "THIS" team is a lottery team? Even without Yao, IMO we are a playoff team. The truth is the truth. DD
2009-2010 Houston Rockets NBA Season was played without Yao Ming. The Rockets did not make the playoffs. Facts are facts.
So, throughout this whole thread I've been getting the "IF Yao is healthy, we WILL be a championship team". Expecting a team to win it all based on IFs is how perpetuating failure occurs. Better to lose knowing your team's best is not good enough than to stay in mediocrity and hope some of the IFs come true.
Yeah, I know it is a big "IF" However, we have no choice but to hope that happens. Yao is under contract for this year, so might as well embrace it. Different team from the one that finished it....the facts are that Tmac's and Yao being out have to be FACTored in.... Don't worry, as soon as the Rox get off to a strong start, you guys will all come around...... And this is a thread about 2010-11....not last year..... "Punk the naysayers, cause they don't know a thing, this is the style we bring" DD
