Reality is usually in the eye of everybody. Otherwise that can be considered as hallucination.

Give it a rest... No one is riding DD or talking smack to him other than Sam. They have their issues and it doesn't have anything to do with us.

DD is a big boy... He knows how to defend himself. He doesn't need a cheerleader on the side trying to play this game where no one else brings anything to the table but DD. Everybody has their own opinion... even Yaosdirtystache. Doesn't make them right...

Sure some are picking at DD because of his repetitive posts but who cares? If you choose to click on the thread that he created, then that's your choice.

We definitely need to see what this team has with Yao in the mix.

The problem with the rockets are many, but can be solved. They need to get out of denial about where this team is at. Yao healthy, and thats a huge if, is a 4-5 seed maybe. Thats means the toughest 1st rd matchup and a 2nd rd match vs la. I would probably stay put until i see something out of yao after the season. Either way, the rockets are in the middle whih is a bad place to be.

I don't think the Rockets are in denial, that's why they tried to get Bosh and have previously tried for Stoudemire etc - it's the people who think they are somehow championship level with the current group that are in denial. They're a lottery team right now. Because it actually happened.

In your opinion that is where they are, and yes if everyone stays the same, and no one improves, and Yao is not healthy, is where they are.

Again, Leeb, we have no choice, Yao is here, and no major free agent is going to sign with his history, so we might as well WISH and HOPE for the best.

If Yao is healthy, and we get some incremental improvement I think this team is a contender.

Not a favorite, but a contender.

As for trying to get Bosh, I think they gave their best effort, but I doubt they really believed they had a chance, I am almost certain that the Bosh effort was as much about marketing as it was about actually trying to get him.

I'll say it again- unless you are in the finals you are not contending. you are probably not in the finals unless you are a favorite.

I think once you get to the conference finals, you are right there, the last 4 standing means you have a good chance.

Obviously being in the finals is better, and the Rox might be as is.....they will be top 2 or 3 in the WC with a healthy Yao.

Earlier today you said they were a lock to get the Conference finals and possible NBA champs merely with Yao back. I guess this is the part where you backtrack, and if/when this lottery team goes back to the lottery, you can cite this post as evidence for 1% of the BBS that takes you seriously.

yeah the Rockets made him the centerpiece of their offseason strategy but never actually BELIEVED it, rather Daryl Morey's efforts to get Bosh, Clutch's insider reports - it was all just window dressing.

In reality, Gerson Rosas and Morey and Alexander and the rest were simply putting out a sitzkrieg - a phony war. A grand charade in order to fool the complacent sheep. Why? Because they want to "sneak up" on people, Ninja style, because over the offseason, unbeknownst to the rest of the Association, the Last Airbender not only healed Yao's leg but make him magicallly able to actually catch an entry pass and not be the most easily neutralized player in the league, and made Aaron Brooks 6 inches taller and able to actually pass the ball and make a layup or draw a foul, put flubber in Chuck Hayes shoes....they actually tried to get him to do somethign to help Budinger but you really can't mess with that kind of absolute perfection even if you are supernatural, which is why he was rookie of the year in the wormhole version of the NBA last season.

Congratulations - we have passed a new milestone. Your online ego is that big that not only do you have to have everybody in the universe listen to what you have to say 10 million times in a row and hijack every thread to do it - but we must now create an alternate version of history where even people who didn't agree with you must actually SECRETLY agree with you in the back of their minds even though every other meaningful indication is the exact opposite. Because it's your 2 cents. It's that important.

    Retro-validation FTW!

A lock, man stop making stuff up you are embarassing yourself. I said they are contenders with a healthy Yao.

Not just having him back....a totally HEALTHY Yao.

Man, why do I even bother, you are just going to twist it, be an butthead and make crap up to pick a fight again.

My ego? Hardly, I am not saying they didn't try, I am saying they knew from the jump that the chances were slim...please don't make stuff up, you are Captain LEAP to conclusions......

    Sam the leaper....sheesh...

You don't think there was a marketing angle to all of this? I mean the caravan was not marketing? I am not saying it was a bad idea, just saying it was possibly a little bit of marketing involved, it is what I would do if I were in the same situation.

Learn what? Replace Kidd with Parker back in those days would get Spurs Championships too, possibly more. Kidd in his prime was better than Parker.

You posted this about 7 hours ago, genius:

Once again proving the point that you don't even know what you post most of the time, you just basically shotgun blast us with every random thought that flits through that rotund dome of yours.

Sam is 100% trolling...that is his schtick, he makes crap up, leaps to conclusions and puts words into people mouths.

While he and I certainly do not agree, I find him annoying...as I am sure he finds me.

    Hey Troll !

    .....if Yao is HEALTHY !!!!!!

    I know, I know Sam, they are a 42-40 lottery team......no excuses.

You are not even a Rox fan, you are just a guy who wants to come and pick a fight.....not actually add anything of relevence, not discuss thoughts, just come in, be a complete and utter arse, and then pick a fight.

We are Rockets fans here Sam, you know, the team that you only liked cause your hero JVG joined....most of us cared about the team long before him and will care long after you move on to wherever he coaches next.

    Good riddance.

BTW - Nice lame attempt at trying to make me look bad at Clutch's efforts etc....typically lame.

I know, that's why I posted the quote. It's laughable even with that precondition. Which is why people are laughing. At you.

Name a single occasion when I've fabricated a single thing you've said - you have put up so much sheer volume of material here that it's completely uncnessary to find a silly quote of yours.

The only problem is that sometimes your overall history of saying ridiculous things here is so vast and varied that it's hard to scoop them all out wiith the search function. YOu have defeated Boolean.

I am a funny guy, I hope the people can have a hearty laugh, people need to laugh more.

And yes, Yao may not get there, but his contract is something we are stuck with, so we might as well HOPE for the best.

You should understand that concept...HOPE...it is what fans of the Rockets do.....not that you are a fan of the team anyway.

Yep, I win, because you can't help yourself, you follow me around like a little lost puppy.....you just have to post in my threads, you are hooked on me....and they call it puppy looooovveeee....

    ;)

Great, you don't believe the team is any good....only a 42-40 lottery team, those are your words.....let's see who is right...feel like a sig bet?
