Patience- we agree on- championship not. We don't have enough pieces even if our current roster develops- just notice how hard DM went after Bosh.

Actually we need patience as continue to rebuild.

Yao is a great player to build around short term if he can stay healthy and play at his highest level- 2 things we can only hope for.

Brooks is a nice player who along with Lowery give us a good set of points.

Unless we just drafted a future all star which is a possibility we are not likely to contend in Yao's remaining years without another scorer.

Martin is injury prone, a defensive hole and not the player he was 2 yrs ago- Martin may have a good year or two but he plays little defense at all.

One thing we are overlooking is the chemistry of the team is set up to make the playoffs but not win a championship. Yao is a strong 1/2 court player- the rest of the team is being set up to be a running transition type offensive roster- similar to what Adelman used in Sac.

With Adelman at the helm we need more of a face up shooter who can run and pass like a young Divaks/B Miller. Yao is best deep in the post and back to the basket.

Whenever Yao faces up he gives up alot of his scoring potential because he lacks quickness making him very easy to defend facing the basket. Unless you want him shooting alot and taking him away from the glass (rebounding) he needs to be 1/2 court low post to dominate both on the offensive end and securing his 10-12 rpg.

This team needs players who can shut down the p&r and penetration before it can compete with LA, SA Orlando, Boston and probably now Miami.

2nd round most likely. after that, i have no clue. there are a lot of facts. luck is one of them. for example, lakers were lucky coz yao got hurt after playing 2 or 3 games (???). otherwise, you've never known what would have happened.

Wrong about what precisely? Please show me where I was wrong. I'm sure you can dig up some quotes.

Yao gets hurt every year. They just got rid of T-mac after he put on the greatest injury show. Of course they don't learn from history!!

I think we will get into the playoff mix next year, but will we win a championship?? I don't think so DD, we still need verstille PF (am not saying that scola isn't good PF, but he just can't contend with Gasol) that can take us to the next level.

Sure they do, they tried to trade Tmac, finally did, and they fixed Yao's foot.

Maybe Hill or Patterson becomes that guy?

I am not saying we are the favorites, but with a healthy Yao, and our current roster, we are not that far away.

Ya, we'll see on that. Only time will tell.......if not the foot...something else is likely to give. :(

It would be amazing if we could get an entire year of Yao with out the ow.

He will have had nearly a year and a half for it to heal, if it is going to get better and work, now is the time.

If not, the team gets to move on after this year......so this is HIS chance, and I think he knows that.

How would you be a fan, which is short for fanatic, without over the top optimism. Otherwise, you just follow the game and the team...IMHO.

    If is not good enough.

I like a core group right now with Yao but I think we need one more upgrade.

I know, I am praying too.

    :)

You do know that he will do everything in his control to be healthy though, and that is a plus.

I think a lot of you get sources and news reports confused with actual facts. DM had the caravan and the 20 minutes with Chris Bosh, as reported. Where you there? Is there video proving this? You can't use speculation to try and prove your point in your argument. As has been said before, this may have been smoke screen by Morey. If Morey really believed Bosh would help this team, then fine, I posted in the get Bosh thread. I'm not a huge fan of Bosh, but I'm a fan of what DM has done recently with the Rox.

Many of you are here just to argure. It's like arguing with women and there's no point, because men have a need to make sense. Not to ride DD's nuts, but he does a lot more for this board that 95% of you as far as his analysis and his videos. When did American society become the kind of place for you to get flamed for having an opinion? Certainly we are above that on this board. Objective and constructive criticism should be the key here, not demoralization. If you don't know what that means...google it, I have not the time to teach children.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Texasboy1978 again.

This roster is championship caliber? The Spurs had Tim Duncan in his prime, one of the Top 3 players in the league druing the entire decade, David Robinson, and Manu Ginobli. You think Yao, Brooks, Martin and Scola are as proportionally effective and balanced as those guys?

Patience is not a virtue if you waiting for a non-playoff team to become a championship contender without major adjustments. Yao Ming has demonstrated dominance in limited, very brief flashes. Thinking that his return + 'a little time for the other guys to gel' will catalyze a gargantuan leap into the upper echelons of the Western Conference is not patience nor is it learning from history. It is magical thinking.
