Actually if after the season Utah offers Brand and Miller the max, then La would have to match or they go to Utah. If we were to trade for Brand now, we would have exclusive negotiating rights towards resigning him. Brand will be a restricted fa just like what kandi was this yr. No one offered Kandi any money so thats why he took the 1 yr 6 mil so he can be unrestricted.

    who does LA want?>

    griffin?

Giving up griffin is probably a mistake...i'd give up Mobley and #1

There is just too much potential and talent in Griff...

Why do we need Griffin if we get Brand, so Griffin can 10 minutes a game.

No way Brand goes to Utah. Utah can't attract big time free agents because its not alot to do there.

Didn't you hear that the Jazz just signed Stockton for a 6-year extension, after they found out that Stockton lied about his age. He's actually only 34. :D

They'll be the first players to collect a paycheck and their NBA pension simultaneously.

Karla will be around next year. So will Stockton. Stockton wont leave until Karla does so they can enter the HOF the same year. Karla wants the all-time scoring title. In his condition, he can play another year(or two) and get it. Damn!!

True. Griffin should stay at the 4. But who needs Brand? Tell Utah to go ahead and take him, woe to them. ;) :p

Actually, with the pace Malone is going, it's going to take him two and half more years before he gets it. No one knows if he would stay after next season. If he does, it will create problem for Utah, since they need refuel the team with young talent like Brand.

Malone/Stockton want a championship, and this year is, in fact, the closest they can get after those Jordan years. With the way Harpring and Kirilinko are going, they have a chance. Although it's not gonna happen.

Yeah but then they were in their early to mid 30s and routinely making deep runs in the playoffs. Now they're about 40 years old and getting knocked out of the first round. Big difference. Then again you're probably right, and we'll see Karl Malone and John Stockton being wheeled up the court on a fastbreak.

The Jazz are also in the running for Illgauskas who is playing All-Star ball now that he is healthy. If they get him they become a legit title contender, as scary as that sounds!

Houston: I have heard rumors that elton brand was on the trading block. Do you think he would look good in a Houston uniform if the Rockets can keep mobley, ming, and francis. Does Francis, Mobley, Rice, Brand and Ming bring a title to Houston in the next 2-3 years?

Ken Bikoff: (5:25 PM ET ) I haven't heard the Brand rumors myself. In fact, I've heard that if they are going to build around anyone, it is going to be Lamar Odom and Brand because the Clips feel they are the best of the youngsters and guys that are going to be consistent. But if Brand would somehow land in Houston, you could start planning a parade route in the very near future. Unfortunately, I just don't see it happening.
