i haven't bought a division champs shirt since 1997...i will this year if we pull this off. no team has ever come back from a 6.5 game deficit in the month of september.... we've already come back 7 games. the guys on mike & mike are joking about how nervous the mets would be to have to face clemens, oswalt and pettitte in the first round. "pop the champagne to that reality."
According to ESPN, Clemens last game is the 29th in Atlanta. I'd like to get tickets to the game but I want to make sure that I'm seeing Roger and not Wandy. Can anyone confirm that Roger will be pitching this Friday (29th)?
LOL! During this time, if I were the coach, I might go with a 3 starter rotation - at least until we get to the playoffs. Suck it up boys - this is the final run for 06.
Good. Since getting blow'd up real good by the Reds in his 3rd start: 7IP, 1ER, PITT 6, 1, NYM 6, 2, MILW 6, 2, PHI 4.2, 4, STL (Bork gave up 2 of Hirsh's runs after he left, iirc) 29.2 IP, 23H, 10BB, 17K, 3.03 ERA
Last start looks not too good. 4.2 IP/5 H/4 ER/2 BB/2 K Has some problems of the location. (gave up 10 HR in 41.2 IP) The interesting thing is .299 vs right but .191 vs left.
Magic numbers are only for teams that are in first place, which the astros could hopefully find themselves in on Friday morning.
i voted no. because just like the last 2 years...whenever i give up on them they prove me wrong. i've given up on them
remember the trading deadline? remember the ESPN guys saying that McLane did Clemens and all of MLB a disservice by not trading him to the Red Sox??? how funny does that seem RIGHT NOW?
You don't have to be in first place to have a magic number. Being in first place just allows you to control your magic number (i.e. magic number < games left to play).
One game at a time... One game at a time.... Lets hold off the magic number talk and anything else celebratory until Tuesday.
