Can T-mac eventualy lead this team to a championship?

CD and JVG have done an amazing job obtaining better players, but we are still a PF short of being where we need to be long term, make JHow the backup, plus find a decent SF backup to Tmac. Then give the team time to improve the chemistry to the point that it appears to be telepathy....

There is still an outside chance of winning it all this year but we have to click on all cylinders throughout the playoffs. But whether we do or not this is still an exciting team - but one that has immediate holes if someone is injured. With JHow down we are re-developing chemistry one more time and with backups filling in.

    .700 ball next year?

I think, sadly, many posters on the board are starting to think about the Rockets as "T-Mac v. Yao", and not "T-Mac AND Yao", I am starting to see that more and more on the BBS, and it is becoming very obvious in some instances where T-Mac didn't play particularly well, and so-called "Rox fans" started taking cracks at the best player on this team (saying things like "McGreedy" and pointing out his failure to carry the Magic last year to the playoffs, etc.). I think this REALLY has to stop, but I am sure it won't, because as many of us agree, there are a LOT of non-Rox fans on board who show their true colors from time to time (i.e. Charvo).

The funny thing is in reality, T-MAc and Yao are very close on the court and trust and like each other, which some fans are seemingly complaining about something that is not there, and are adapting a "Mcgrady v. Yao" mentality.

The bottom line is: like it or not, the Rockets are not even CLOSE to a playoff team without McGrady and Yao. BOTH are needed for this team to be successful, and if you root for one and not the other, then you simply don't want the team to win.

Let's heal this division in the fanbase, no need to go down that road.

Here I was, wondering why we were making any moves after trading for TMac. I thought all this time, TMac alone would carry us to the championship. Why sign Sura? Why trade for Barry, Wesley, and James?

Thanks for showing me the light.

Not until Yao steps up to be a 22/11/3 type of player.
