This guy is making the same argument i have made about steph curry for years. Steph Curry is seen a top 15 player all-time simply because he has been fun for casuals to watch over the years. Individually though with an average supporting cast he is a 3 point specialist, nothing more/nothing less. He cant carry a team like Lebron/Harden/Luka/Jokic because he physically isnt able to do so. Its not hating, its the truth. His entire popularity came from beating LeBron and Harden( the 2 villans of the NBA) with superior teams.

This guy in the video thankfully cant be blocked by a mod on reddit, or realgm so hopefully this video stays up on youtube (because their is nothing but facts in everything he said) The nba media treats curry like he is actually on LeBron's level that he is above criticism when he is 34 and doesnt have neither the counting stats or the career accolades to be mentioned as a top 15 player ever.

Stephen Curry according to his similarity score on basketball reference has an 87% career match to Walt Frazier. Does anybody rank "Clyde" as a top 10 player ever.

Joe Lacob was part of the Warriors contingent that flew out to Miami to meet Jonathan Kuminga. He watched both Moses Moody workouts at the franchise’s San Francisco facility. He sat in on just about every draft meeting, traveled to the combine and, if you grilled him on prospects — even second rounders — he’d have a formed opinion. He’s extremely involved in the pre-draft process and has never hidden that.

So it’s no surprise that Lacob is hyped about the Warriors’ draft haul. He was among the most influential voices in the crowded war room steering them toward Kuminga with the seventh pick and Moody with the 14th pick. The Warriors introduced both to Bay Area media on Friday. Minutes after, a glowing Lacob spoke with The Athletic about the two new wings and the organization’s path forward, expressing outward confidence that they’ll be able to successfully fuse the arriving core to the established core, despite more than a decade of age difference.

“I’m ecstatic,” Lacob said. “Ecstatic. We’ll probably never have two lottery picks again. If we do, we’ll have a problem. The thing that’s most amazing to me is how it worked out. I shouldn’t say where they were on our board, but it’s hard for me not to say it. I’ll just tell you they were both clearly in our top 10. We feel like we got really fortunate on Kuminga. Then with Moody, I think it’s pretty common knowledge we were seriously considering him at seven. So it’s pretty astonishing to me that we could get him at 14.”

From a value standpoint, there’s no denying the upside of the picks. Draft experts had the 18-year-old Kuminga as a consensus top-five prospect for months, and even those who downgraded him the last few weeks only bumped him a spot or two, acknowledging that type of two-way potential at that position is worthy of a premium lottery pick. High risk, high reward.

“I thought there was no chance we were ever going to get Jonathan Kuminga,” Lacob said. “To me, he was one of — certainly the top five prospects in the draft — but, for me, probably higher. When it looked like he could drop, I couldn’t believe it and neither could Bob (Myers). We didn’t know. Nobody knew what Sam Presti was going to do. Nobody. Literally nobody. As you saw, he took someone nobody predicted. Although I kind of had a feeling he’d go (Josh) Giddey and surprise everyone.”

Moody’s predicted range was more expansive. Some experts loved him around seven or eight. Most had him firmly in that 10 through 13 pocket. A few had him on the fringe of the lottery. The Warriors didn’t. They were high on him throughout the process.

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson attended his first workout. Draymond Green gave the fellow Klutch client his stamp of approval. Some of the coaches who worked out the 19-year-old Moody asked Myers if he was an upperclassman, considering his patient style, advanced feel and mature approach. Nothing about Moody screams future superstar, but plenty about him profiles as a pretty quick contributor with a decade as a reliable rotation wing ahead of him.

“As soon as we picked seven, I sat there and counted 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 — six spots before us unless we make a trade,” Myers said. “We kind of knew where a few teams were going to go in that window. We were hoping maybe one or two would surprise and we could maybe get Moody. More than one or two surprised.”

The Moody pick may pay quicker dividends, but it’s clear the Kuminga selection is what had Lacob beaming. The optimistic side of his brain sees Kuminga reaching that lofty ceiling. The ambitious side knows what that would mean in the long run.

“Bottom line, I like how he has a natural instinct to play with force,” Lacob said. “That sounds like a simple thing, but it’s not that common. Bob and I have felt for several years that we’ve needed physicality. Athleticism and physicality. That’s what really excites me about him. We’ve started to transform our team with James (Wiseman) and now him. We’re bigger and more athletic. Both those guys and Moody have 7-foot wingspans. We love wingspans, as you know.”

I’ll pause there. You get the idea. The Warriors like this draft class and, in a vacuum, most analysts would agree on its plus value. But the existential question looming over the franchise isn’t about draft choices, it’s about title timelines. Kuminga may very well blossom into an All-NBA wing and Wiseman a dominant center, but even the ultimate optimist would admit that’s several seasons from becoming a possibility.

They need time and the Curry core doesn’t have a lot of it. He’s 33. Green and Thompson are 31. The window is closing. Before it shuts, the league has presumed the Warriors are desperate to mortgage the future to maximize the present. They aren’t. Lacob clearly isn’t. He believes they have enough to win in the present while preserving the future. Their thirst for a trade has been overblown.

“Honestly, this is sort of my dream,” Lacob said. “And I know this isn’t popular with a lot of people. They think we ought to go get the next star. We already have the stars. And we have a payroll that’s — and I’ve said this when I was interviewed before, but nobody listened. It’s very unlikely, I’ve said that we’re not going to trade for anybody that people are expecting. Very unlikely. It’s not impossible. But if it was going to be somebody, it was going to be somebody really great. It was going to be a big trade. It’s unlikely.”

They quickly batted down a Ben-Simmons-for-every-asset offer this week. Bradley Beal’s name surfaced in recent weeks and an acquisition certainly would’ve been explored had he ever asked out of Washington. He didn’t. But even had he, I’d be stunned, listening to Lacob talk about his vision, if Wiseman would have been discussed. Now that the seventh pick has become Kuminga, he might be equally tough to pry. That’s why I don’t see a big deal happening. This is a long-view approach that can, has and will be criticized. But it’s not a plan Lacob is hiding. His belief is it’s best for the organization.

“So the more likely path — and the path that I think, as an owner, I feel most comfortable with, quite frankly — is to bridge the gap to the future,” Lacob said. “We’ve got three or four contracts and big players that are still in their early 30s, still have quite a bit of time to go, especially in this day and age. If we can kind of have a Wiseman and a Kuminga and a Moody and a Poole (help in the meantime). They don’t have to be awesome next year. With a great investment in our player development staff, we just want them to show great potential.”

The Warriors hired Kenny Atkinson, Jama Mahlalela and Dejan Milojević this summer. All three have strong player-development backgrounds.

“Maybe we get lucky and some guy emerges right away,” Lacob said. “But maybe it’s in Year 2. Look at Poole (late last season). Kobe Bryant didn’t emerge until Year 3. If you go back and look at history, that’s the way it’s been. Your expectation has to be generally that it’s Year 2 or 3. I’m OK with that. Maybe some of our fans aren’t. But I think they don’t understand our payroll limitations. We can’t add another star without losing one of our stars. And I like our stars. So this is the next-best thing to do, the way we’re approaching this.”

Curry, Thompson and Green will make a combined $107.6 million next season. The salary cap is a projected $112.4 million. Wiggins’ additional $31.6 million ups that total to $139.2 million for four players. That’s already flying Golden State past the luxury tax line, which significantly handcuffs roster-building flexibility.

Wiggins has the salary to move for a big-name upgrade, but it’s obvious how hesitant Lacob and the Warriors seem to be about attaching Wiseman or Kuminga to any Wiggins deal, especially considering the internal belief that Wiggins is perfectly capable of succeeding at his current place on the pecking order for the duration of his contract, which now only lasts two more seasons.

Does that limit the Warriors’ playoff ceiling? Does it overburden a returning Thompson? Could it increase the pressure on Myers to find some legitimate veteran help in free agency next week?

All fair questions. Here’s the last one I left Lacob with: Even while welcoming in this youth movement, are you still confident that you can compete for a title this season?

“If we can’t, then you should look at Joe Lacob and Bob Myers and Steph Curry and Klay Thompson and Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins and say you weren’t good enough,” Lacob said. “You’re paying all that money you weren’t good enough. They need to be good enough and they should be. They’ve won before. They’re a little older, but they’re still really good. Klay will be back. That’s the key. I think we’ll be good enough. Yes.

“Now, we add a few veterans. We’re going to do that (in free agency). You’ll see in the next few days. Then we now have some incredible potential that we can bridge to the future. When you can do both those things at once, it’s magic. Who does that? The Lakers didn’t make the playoffs for six straight years. I don’t want to be the Lakers, I don’t want to be six years out. It’s too important to me. I don’t want to sit and be a losing team. I think we’re going to be good and hopefully great every year.”

No he can’t. I’m not even a harden fan but curry is not on his level. I think his style depends on the team scheme and passing ability. At the time other teams had to focus on Klay and Durant. Curry can score in bunches but I don’t think he can carry a team.

Golden State’s Stephen Curry, I’m told, will soon be agreeing to a four-year, $215 million extension with the Warriors. — Marc Stein

Curry might actually be underpaid, for what he does for the NBA.

Has loyalty going for him. One of the faces of the NBA. Popular with every single fan. Might not be universally loved, but definitely universally respected. Best shooter of all-time. Smokin' hot mom. Been a unanimous MVP. Been a multi-champ. And I'm sure there's a bunch more accolades on his resume that I left out.

    Sonya Curry files for divorce

Steph Curry's parents are going their separate ways ... TMZ Sports has learned Sonya Curry has filed for divorce from Dell Curry.

55-year-old Sonya put in the paperwork back on June 14 in North Carolina ... according to court records. A court official tells us the divorce is still ongoing.

Details surrounding the reason for the split are unclear -- we're working on it.

The couple -- whose other son, Seth, plays for the Philadelphia 76ers -- had been dating for decades and were officially married way back in 1988.
