All I was saying was others would avoid the contact. You watch the play again. Harden would Eurostep around Baynes and get wide open layup. Their wouldn't even have been any contact. Because of his size he has longer strides and would have missed Baynes. Curry is too small and true the euro and still made contact.
I keep bringing up Klay Thompson because you keep bringing up how other teams had players who missed chunks of games. Klay Thompson missed the entire season. Grizzlies, easily.
Watch the play again. Baynes stuck out his hip to undercut Curry. It's hard to avoid contact when the defender is trying to make contact.
I did watch, I've seen Baynes try to take a charge on Harden a million times. It never works. Harden drives to basket with more control and slower speeds and has longer strides to avoid contact. It's a skill that not all players have. Not to mention even that hip check wouldn't even knock harden down or Lebron unless they were just trying to flop.
That just proves my point on Curry. He can't create or set up teammates to be better. He doesn't elevate those around him. Hence he can't carry. Harden makes scrubs playable. It's just a fact. Any dude we pick up off the street thrown into a lineup with Harden is instantly a better player. Every role player that ever left Houston basically just ended their career becuase they weren't that good in the first place. Curry is a defensive liability. Harden is jjst disengaged on defense but can be elite against certain players if needed. Curry can't guard anyone so they pick players who can mask his defense and net negative on offense . he resurrected the careers of Green, Rivers, Faried, Smith, Brewer, prigioni, Tucker, Luc, ariza. He single handedly got Capela, House, Dmo paid. However with Curry its always excuses. His team isn't good enough. Klay is hurt. Draymond regressed blah blah.. win with what you got. Lebron carried boobie Gibson to the finals.
I can't begin to tell you how many of us on this thread doubted Curry. However we were right. We said he couldn't carry a team to the playoffs without the help of like 4 all stars and he didn't. He proved us, the critics of him, to be correct. You were proved correct about nothing. Absolutely nothing. Hold your L. Enjoy your team and player that wears "Oakland" across his chest while playing in San Francisco! If this was a bet, you'd owe me money. The bet was if Curry could carry a team to the playoffs. He didn't. Playoffs start without him. You lost, man. Also, if you were a Rockets fan you wouldn't post 95% of your material in a thread about some player from a California team. Quit lying to yourself. You can't gaslight this bro. It happened. It isn't fake news. The Warriors had a healthy Curry and they're ousted.
Every single player in the NBA would get knocked down if they were hip checked while airborne. And if the offensive player is driving to the rim, its impossible to avoid contact if the defender is trying to make contact. You're way off base here.
By this logic, Harden can't win a title unless he's playing with 2 franchise players, 3 former all-stars, and role players who shoot 3 pointers at an elite percentage. Do you think that's a fair statement? I don't. I've repeatedly said the Warriors weren't good enough to make the playoffs. What exactly am I wrong about? Why would I owe you money? I said the Warriors didn't have a good enough supporting cast to make the playoffs, and I was proven correct
Draymond green is borderline in the hof because of his defense and cuz he has 3 rings. 2 playing on the most stacked team of all time probably more to do with KD than Curry. How does Curry help Draymonds defense? Warriors fans are soo spoiled. They are use to having All stars at every position that when they get average players they think they are scrubs. Wiggins, Oubre, Draymond, Bazemore are over paid but not bad players. on the flip side the rockets are soo use to having terrible players that we treat Trevor Ariza like he's an all star. That is all you need to know about this argument.
He's not even moving he's trying to take a charge and you telling me Harden can't avoid that contact.... do you even watch the Rockets! This is what happens when Harden meets Aaron Baynes. Look at that hit. Harden didn't even flinch. Where's the and 1? Curry would have died..
My standards for Curry are typical for those of any NBA superstar. But this is an MVP finalist this year. This is the league's first ever unanimous MVP. But since you and other Curry fans are so into comparing him to Harden, you'd at least expect Curry to drag whatever roster he has, to the playoffs. Bare minimum. That's what Harden has done, and Harden's worst roster was far worse than this Golden State one. All Curry had to do was either win one game or to not lose 2 in a row. He couldn't do either. If he couldn't get past the first round, no one would blame Curry. But to not even make the playoffs? There's no way to spin it positively. Players and teams have made the playoffs with worse overall talent. Imagine crying about Curry not having all-star help or whatever, and then taking a look at the Memphis roster that just beat you.
I know y'all are having fun beating up on some worriers fan who must be on my ignore list, but the game was actually kind of interesting in many ways. Chief among these, I thought, was the worrier fans leaving early b/c, you know, elitists have more important things to do than watch overtime. Hahaha. They'll never recapture that Oaktown magic. It was super satisfying for me as a Bay Area Rockets' fan, because OMG the homer radio coverage leading up to the game was ridiculous, predicting a worriers blowout, talking about how Memphis never makes more than 10 threes, (and they went for 15 or so). Such sweet sweet justice. Curry played well enough on O but again, there's absolutely nowhere to hide him on defense. It's got to be excruciating to watch for worriers' fans. And whatever you think of Curry, GS is several pieces away from truly competing again. You don't just add an older Clay Thompson and think you're back to contender status, not to this roster anyway. Yikes. But now watch them get into the top four spots of the draft.
