Well put, to me, more than desire or "heart" as we're calling it here, its about focus and determintion. It is a minimum requirement for a professional athlete, not something that goes above and beyond what they are expected to do. So it becomes a glaring problem when you see a guy who's not showing an it.

    Sorry if already posted...

I'm not saying Tmac should put up a miracle every game, but this was when he still believed in the team and would do anything to win....

I still believe he needs to lose weight.. If you look at him now he has bulked up big time, gain a little weight and that has not helped. If he wants to be able to drive by his defender, jump higher on his J's then he needs to hit the treadmill/pool and get a diet plan going.. I hate it when players come to Houston and they gain on the pounds :(

Weight is not the problem, its his mentality. Tmac in this sequence is playing more of a 2-guard spot. He's driving, he's shooting, he's even playing defense. What's infuriating about Tmac recently are his comments. He complains about not getting enough shots and not getting into a rhythm. I hate to preach a Gundyism, but defense always creates offense. On defense Tmac is just standing around and watching. Tmac, you want your game back then play defense. Look at the video, he's got heart and defense, and with those two anything is possible. Gundy and Rudy T 2012.

Amazing as that was, and still is, he took 29 shots that game.....and was 8 for 25 before hitting those last 4.....

If Tmac is taking 20+ shots, this team is going nowhere.

Yes, he makes his teamates better, but the object is for EVERYONE to make their teamates better, that way the team is near impossible to guard.

If the left one don't get ya, the right one will.

It's been almost second Round for his entire career dude.
I hate to be brutally honest to you.

There's a line between blind loyalty and being a realistic fan.

    Almost doesn't count...EVER.

Don't put words in my mouth. I'm a rockets fan, born and raised in Houston Texas. I will support this team no matter what. I will cheer them on but i won't be "happy" with losing. This organization is beyond that. Winning is the ultimate goal. I'm sorry if some people are so used to the losing that they have forgotten that.

Let the grizzlies and bobcats of the league have their moral victories. We're beyond that.

I'd rather cheer for a team that breaks their balls every night ...but JUST misses the playoffs (eg Francis era). Than a team that coasts into the playoffs and loses in the first round every year (eg TMac era).

All that said, I'd rather get a championship most of all (eg Hakeem era) ...but only one team gets that. ;)

How's that "heart" thing working out for you fans? We've had two consecutive games with great "effort" and "heart" now.

Wake me up when this team finally starts to execute on offense and defense.

I would disagree completely. The Rockets executed on offense with both these games, scoring 100 against the Hawks and almost 100 against Philly.

But they showed zero heart on defense. They let Philly into the paint all night long and gave them uncontested layup after uncontested layup. And the thing that really shows they have no grit is how Philly pulled down offensive rebounds and second chance opportunities.

The Rockets executed well on offense. But the chemistry is awful and they're looking like losers.

Read my previous post in this thread, and you'll realize you're pretty much repeating what I said -- except that you're still hanging on to that "heart" word.

The Rockets are executing. But the place where "heart", "grit", whatever really shows up is on defense and on the boards. I think tonight's game is a perfect example that simple execution isn't going to save your ass against another team that just wants it more.

And the Rockets' chemistry is seriously messed up. I hope trades are coming up or this team's going to be watching the playoffs.
