Except Warriors and Spurs , western teams ain't playing good this year. Rockets now 8-11 ; Thunders , now the third seat in west ,11-7. If Rockets play well in the upcoming schedule , they can still have a seat in west . For the latest news,Rockets won't trade Ty Lawson. And Lawson is playing good in today's game vs Pelicans . Rockets' lineups are still competitive , and with D-Mo's come back , I think Rockets still can find a way into playoffs . And they can have a good seat .

by the way,i am a rockets fan from China

Why does everyone bring up this stupid question its early season and were 3 games away from 3rd seed. Even if we do poorly were still going to make it as an 8th seed

I like this 3 game win streak against crappy teams, but lets not go wild with expectations. We still play like shiet and go down 20 even in wins.

Yes. It's a long season. Rockets aren't that far from 8 seed.

That said, playing like they have been in the last 3 weeks? No.

Who are you guys trying to kid? This was suppose to be about the "Pursuit". Anything less than WCF is still a failed season. If we play SA or GS in the first round, we are dead. Those teams dont let opponents come back from 20pt deficits.

In my view a failed season = any finish equal to or less than last year. We added talent, kept the base, and should expect an improved finish.

An NBA finals appearance would be a successful season....everything else is pretty much failure.

I think this team is still a wildcard contender. Out of every team in the NBA we don't no what This rockets team will look like at full strength. Ty's getting better and were about to get DMO back. I think this team is going to peak at the right time and be playing it best ball after Allstar.

I think playoffs are a forgone conclusion but how deep we go depends on how ty and Dmo change the dynamic. Could be a lot and if it is the rockets will be able to beat anyone. SA and GSW included.

    Yes.

Also, nice use of the word "aint" for someone who doesn't live here.

how sad that it is that we're now HOPING for just the 8th seed???

even if we get the 8th seed, we'll only be playing 4 more games. :(

It really is tough to determine how doomed we are.
One end of the spectrum we are almost eighth seed after having a horrendous start.

At the opposite end, OKC game aside, our wins are pretty pathetic. NY, Philly, NO? Knicks were missing Carmelo, Philly we squeezed it out in the final minute, I'll take the Pelicans win. Portland went to OT on a hailmary. Clippers were missing Chris Paul. Marginally beating Orlando may have been our best win after OKC? I can't remember if Cousins played in the Sacramento game.

If we adopt the Warriors illegal screen strategy we could easily make it into the playoffs.

Until this team completely buys into to playing all out defense and especially their star player Harden they will struggle. The only way to turn this around is on the defensive side of the ball period, it starts with defense. Their foundation has got to be defense because your not going to score the ball every night. Defense Defense Defense. Bickerstaff is going to have to find a way to light a fire under Harden in convincing him to play all out while he's on the court.

it's not even Christmas yet... no dmo, ty still clearly finding himself, (although last 2 games seems to show the progress)... once they finally decide to give Dwight more than 5 touches in the post a game they will see that it will allow harden to rest on the offensive end for a few possessions so he play a little harder on the defensive end... lets see where we are on the first of the year and then you can ask this question again

Umm yeah...we are still like 3 games behind the 3rd seed IIRC?

The real question is if we will still manage to get home court.
