Nope match him and have him be 6th man off bench still get 30-35 mins.... He will be solid for his offense off the bench with jones... Get a stretch 4 in starting lineup... "not loyal"

Delfino held his ground not too badly.

Man, that will be ugly. Parson is good at attacking the rim and shoot 3. To defend a bruiser like Randolph or a 7' LMA and athletic power dunker Griffin? You know the answer.

Sure he can stretch the floor and cause problems on the offensive end. The real question is can ariza defend big 4's so parsons can guard the 3?

    Yes.

In 2k it works so it must work in real life.

    1. For $15mil/yr, Parsons will play whatever the **** the Rockets want.
    2. Unless the Rockets get a stretch 4 like Ilyasova or Ryan Anderson, he'll have to play the stretch 4 at times to space the floor. Jones and DMo can't make 3s or even mid-range shots.
    3. Parsons played 12% of his minutes at PF last year.

15 mil is way too much money. And i get the impression that morey doesnt like to be handicapped by deals that are not tied into star players.

Can he? Sure, but he shouldn't.
We need a legit 4.. Birdman or Marion. And either Ariza our Chandler comes off the bench.
Why do they both have to start? Best player starts, best chemistry, and that's the value of being a deep team. I love the value and pickup of Trevor.
Time to sign a defensive 4 preferably the ones mentioned.

If you want him to be more receptive to a trade to Minnesota this season then he's coming off the bench

Didn't he already play some 4 last season? I would think Ariza is more likely to play 4 than Parsons, but really they can switch it up.

Either guy you can put on stretch 4s or when you want a run a small ball lineup every once in a while, but I don't see anyway parsons and Ariza start.

We still need a backup 4/5 guy.

Once you're over the cap, you're over the cap. The only handicap comes from the inability to use the full MLE due to the tax apron limitation. But who can the Rockets get with the MLE that comes close to Parsons' production?

Not matching Parsons at this point only helps Les' pocketbook. Everything else it's bad for the Rockets.

Our small ball looks fine. Still need a defensive PF.

I wish there was a way we could get our hands on Taj Gibson.

You guys still think Morey signed ariza for the bench at half parsons cost ? Nah he most likely won't match Dallas offer. Parsons will be highest paid player on mavs and resigning him would cripple roster movement in future

Given that Jones need to develop and playing time, no point to pay Parsons $15M to just score as a stretchh 4 and a big liability on D against other PF, this signing may mean Morey doesn't like to match Dallas's offer sheet. Patterson was our nice stretch 4 with good 3 pt shooting but his contract was peanut compared to Parson's.
