Unfortunately, it isn't who votes, but who counts the votes...and fiddles with touch screens....and decides which provisional ballots had some "clerical error" or "no date stamp" or just plain belong in the trash...and who hacks into voting totals....and who purges voters from voter rolls with deliberate changes of the voters' names, DOB, whatever.

Very true. But the best defense against improprieties or even flat out cheating is making sure the election isn't close enough to steal. A close election can be stolen. A blowout can't.

Unless we get some good news on the economy soon, its pretty much over. This financial mess couldn't came at a worse time for McCain.
