Honestly, Rafer's shot is a turnover, so in saying that give luther a chance...Luthe is fine until they press in the 4th quarter ,then let T-mac or James bring it up Rafer shot is equilvilent to a turnover seriously
I don't think so, but we are desperate. Two seasons and seven games of Rafer is a violation of the 8th Amendment.
Your post is spot on except for this. Luther has plenty of hops. He can sky for rebounds at times, in college he finished alley-oops, and then last year he had that teabagger dunk against the Lakers. His problem is not hops, it's finishing in traffic, at full speed. Take Steve Nash. He has zero hops, yet he knows how to finish in traffic, at full speed. Luther has 10X more hops and athleticism than Nash, but it doesn't matter because Nash knows how to finish, Luther does not. Luther is not crafty when he finishes; he doesn't know how to use his body to shield off the bigs when he finishes. The end.
Did Dwayne Wade ever get any minutes his rookie season? Why yes he did. 34.9 MPG and 16.2 scoring average. 4.0 rpg 4.5 APG and 3.2 TO's. He was drafted 5th. Aaron Brooks was not drafted as high but he was the incredible in the summer leagues. Yeah, why not give him some burn? Brooks can unseat Alston and Francis he may be better with Mike James minutes. I still want to see Francis in there, just not sure how to do it.
No...all he should be doing is spoting up to shoot, which is really all he can do. His mins should be going to Francis at the very least.
Ok, this game is VERY irrelevant to the discussion. In order for Luther to play PG he has to have Tmac in there to actually initiate the offense. DD
^ Unbelievable. Keeping telling yourself that Rafer does nothing productive if it makes you feel any better. If that were really true, then he wouldn't be starting, correct? What improvement? Head's defense is still garbage and he made some horrible decisions today. For anyone to think that Head should be replacing Rafer's minutes in any way shape or form is ludicrous. I'm still trying to figure out why he gets consistent playing time in the 4th quarter.
To me, the very key that hinders him becoming a good PG is his decision making. It was also shown in tonight's game especially when the game was on the line. Remember when we were down 84 to 86, Head got the inbound pass with a wide open look. He should've shot then if he wanted. But he hesitated and passed the opportunity. Then he dribbled to outside the arc and set up to pass to Yao when Yao already had the position, somehow he decided to shoot an ill-advised 3-point shot. I am sorry, he can not be our PG. It is either in you or not in you. It can not be learned.
