I hear ya, but Skip has been declining for the last few years, the guy is just not good.

Sure he can dribble, and play the passing lanes, but his shot....OMFG....his shot.....

Last night the Grizzlies left him wide open...on purpose....and....he clanked.....

That is what I would do as an opposing coach......the Rockets already have Hayes who is an offensively challenged player in the starting lineup, I think you can get away with one, but having 2 players who are not a threat is a recipe for an early playoff exit.

The regular season to me is about getting ready for the playoffs, and if Rafer is starting, this team is going nowhere....zip...nadda...zilch....

I would rather the team be taking some lumps but growing with players that can shoot the ball.....you know someone that can compliment Yao and Tmac.....

Ok, If Rafer can't get it together what would you do

    option #1 Start James/Rafer/Francis/Brooks
    option #2 Start James/Francis moves to #2/Rafer/Brooks
option #3 Start Francis/Keep James in his role
option #4 Roll the dice and start Brooks/James then either Francis or Rafer after that

option #5 [I don't think this is or should ever be an option] Luther running some point either starting or as a backup

option #6 T-Mac and James share PG duties

No and don't ask this question again. The boy is an idiot on the court and lacks any killer instinct. Plus his a liability on defense all day long.

Don't be obtuse. He's not an idiot on the floor or he wouldn't be playing... see Kirk Snyder.

Luther is not just a bad point, hes terrible. His handles are below average, and his passing is just plain bad. I would not even consider playing him at the point.

One example from last night. Yao was posted up in good position. Luther does not throw him the ball because he is terrible at throwing the ball into the post. Instead he fakes to Yao and throw a terrible pass to TMac that gets picked off for a fast break going the other way. A high schooler could have made a better play.

trying to make Luther Head a point guard is like the Saints trying to make Reggie Bush a running back.

Luther at the point is just a tad bit better than Reece Gaines at the point.

We really do need to make a trade. I'm sure Morey will be on the phones in December. Until then we'll probably be stuck with what we have, but since Rafer is blowing so hard, I wouldn't mind giving AB a few minutes.

I can't see how much Luther has improved. I would like to try AB instead.

    1. Start MJ over Rafer
    2. Have AB sub for MJ
    3. SF3 takes over Luther's minutes
    4. Rafer and Luther turn to sit and watch

No...not for anything more than spot minutes against some rotational players. Don't be deceived by using the Grizzlies PG 's as the basis for an observation.

You wont gain anything if you put Head at PG. When playoff comes, Head at PG = Rafer at PG = hole.

I'd give AB some PG minutes and give Head more SG minutes.

Let's pray AB is the real deal or we are screwed.

Like everyone has said, Luther can not play the point position. He turns it over enough as is playing limited minutes while someone else is the primary ball handler.
