If Scola starts, plays major minutes, and is instrumental in a 55 win season plus a title he will give the total stud that is Durant a run for his money.
I think Brooks will be huge and become a great PG in the NBA,but since we're sorely lacking at the 4,Scola's going to get a lot of credit this year if things go right. I also think because of James and Francis(who should play more 2 than 1),Aaron might not be starting until midseason....Adelman will give him good minutes, but he's going to make Aaron "earn" them at the 1....Too many bodies to climb over for enough minutes to justify ROY at the moment. For the record though I believe Brooks will be an All Star eventually.
scola is more of a team oriented player. he may have some decent stats, but he may be overlooked if yao and mac have the majority of the offensive production.
No doubt he CAN win it but he will posibly not. KD is free in Seattle so everybody except him to take role of main player. Conley has a chance but I'm not so sure. If Scola was on Seattle no doubts he would win it. In a team where even McGrady and Yao can't find enough shots for themselves, nobody will be ROY.
no matter how well scola does in his rookie reason. he will not get the ROY. why? because those pricks who decides ROY will hold a gra** against his MVP trophy at the summer FIBA.
I think he has a fair shot at it, just because he really experienced. But we need to have him starting and he needs to impact the game in a good way to win it. I still think Kevin Durant will win ROY. Because I see him putting up like 20+pts.
I think Scola might have the numbers to justify Rookie of the Year, but the voters may be biased against his international 'pro' experience. Yep, and Finals MVP to boot.
Absolutely incredible player...playing center when needed....sheesh. I'd go so far as to say if I was picking a team I would take Magic over anyone...even Dream and MJ.The guy was a coach on the floor and another thing that many forget until they watch those highlights that he would go coast to coast fake a pass and throw it down...simply remarkable.I loved watching Showtime.
I agree completely- he's the best player EVER. His career was cut short by his HIV infection and the ensuing pressure to retire.
I thought they shared that award? It would be interesting to see the breakdown of the voting after all this time.I've just crossed forty so sometimes i get my wires crossed.
