That statement applies to a lot more teams than the Bobcats and the Rockets are one of them. I'd trade our entire roster for just Davis, Gilchrist and Jones.
Not this kentucky team, but some of the other all-time great teams certainly could imo. Occasionally, a college team will have 5 legit nba players on it, which is more than the current bobcats roster.
I doubt even the putting the best 5 rookies in a team could win more games than the bobcats did over a NBA season.
In this day and age when players are one-and-done, no chance. A college team can be comprised of the top 10 lottery picks of next year and still get their ass kicked by any NBA team. I think you have to go back to the old days when even star players stay for 4 years to find a college team with a legit shot. Those old Georgetown, UCLA, UNC teams would have a better shot than any team today.
The worst D-League team would crush Kentucky by at least 25 points. Toronto and Charlotte would obliterate the Wildcats by 40 to 50 points.
A D-league team may have a much harder time. An NBA team??? It wouldnt be close. Depth would play a major factor as well. If any one of Kentucky's starters gets in foul trouble, its over.
I'll ask again: After watching that slop in the 2nd half, is there anybody out there still doing enough drugs to think Kentucky can beat an NBA team or even keep it close? Like on guy on Twitter said, it was approaching UConn/Butler early in the 2nd half. Gagging Kentucky was begging Kansas to please storm back and take the lead but Kansas was too polite (and chokey) to do so. I know it doesn't matter how you win, but the 2nd half was awful.
YEa you have to remember even the entire D-League roster were big time contributors in colege hoops so they and usually have illustrious college careers. ehere in kentucky you have 4-5 NBA players at best, It just doesn't make sense how peope get caught up in it Anthony Davis right now is Marcus Camby Light, and could devlop an offense game and take over, but hes still too weak to defend an NBA team but his timing and shot blocking allows him to be a strong presence.
