Toronto would dominate Kentucky, I think it would be pretty close with Charlotte. Anthony Davis can take over a game. We already see how Kyrie Irving is carrying Cleveland to probably 10 more wins than they otherwise would've had. Which means the rest of the Cleveland roster combined is worse than Irving by himself
im pretty sure he said the toronto raptors can..and then combined the T from "the" into his next sentence into that so it sounded like he said cant
Kentucky would not beat an NBA team. HOWEVER, if I had the Bobcats roster, I would trade it for the Kentucky roster.
outside of having NBA bodies, the fact that most of these guys were their star players or all americans in collge, or really heavy impact players abroad...that is just absurd. BArkley is on tv, entertaining, trying to emphasize that kentucky is the best team and got carried away...to realistically think these guys could consistnetly beat an NBA squad of guys who were all stars in that level usually is absurd
No they wouldn't. Assuming the NBA team is playing for real, the college would get destroyed horribly. The Bobcats or the Raptors against UK would have a Vegas line of at least 30-40 points depending on NBA or college rules. And that would be a conservative estimate. Put Anthony Davis right now against Camby or Dalembert and he'd get killed.
I don't think you understand how good Davis is. He's probably the best draft prospect in the last 5 years. There's no "could be" with him, he is a future superstar.
exactly, he is a FUTURE superstar, right now with his body, NBA regular centars and forwards would man handle the kid. He is not tim duncan sklled on offense, but he has great timing on defense, but he just couldn't hold his own. Even bisak biyombo would really bring him the heat(see his triple double against davis in the international games)... sorry man, the nba players are usually those same stars and all americans, except more matured games and bodies...
While I just don't think the Raptors can beat the Wildcats if they played, I don't think its such a foregone conclusion that everyone hear thinks. For example, think about the upsets that the USA team face in the international scene in 00's. Those teams the USA team lost too is probably the not that much better than Kentucky, and those USA teams are definitely better than the Raptors and Bobcats. Also, I mean is the talent gap between Lehigh & Duke that crazily different than the talent gap between Kentucky & Raptors/Bobcats. The key things to any such speculation is the rules and setting. For example, if they used NBA rules with longer 3pt line, 48 minutes, and NBA refs, the Pro team would out last the Wildcats who also would not adjust well to the longer 3pt, the even more "superstar" calls, and such. If they use NCAA rules though, maybe the NBA team would have a little time adjusting to the shorter 3pt line, i.e. taking more of them thinking they will hit them at a better rate, dealing with more charges being called, or such. Then also have to take into effect how much preparation time they would have. It if is Calipari coaching that Wildcat team against any NBA team, I would also bet AGAINST Cal. If you gave them at least a decent NBA coach and some practice time, I would give them a chance. It all depends on the situation and such, and playing the actual game.
I dont think this Kentucky team could beat them but the Team with John Wall Demarcus Cousins Patrick Patterson and Eric Bledsoe could.
Look at how hard it was for Cambembert to contain Demarcus Cousins... Davis is a higher level talent than Cousins.
I really have no idea where some of you all are coming from. I have no idea where this thread is going. The question about whether Kentucky could compete against an NBA team is ludicrous. A better question is whether they could compete against the better D-League teams. Barkley was just being Barkley.
