Sure he can, all he needs is minutes and time on the floor, the guy is the biggest player on the Rockets. All he lacks is time on the floor - he will never get to Asik's level on defense, but he will more than make up for that with speed and quickness, and his height will be a major advantage on D once he learns how to play better position defense. He isn't ready for any type of NBA action, period. DMo is the most useless overhyped Rockets player since VSPAN. Where is the DMo hater brigade to balance out this madness? DMo doesn't deserve to have all these threads and fans. Spoiler that last sentence was sarcasm. DMo still sucks though.
Not from what I have seen. It's a layup drill for the other team every time he steps on the floor, it seems.
The question was "Can D-Mo an adequate backup for Howard" and the answer is yes. He can be an adequate backup during the course of the season. What he gives up on defense, he will surely make it up on offense. Still, there is always Greg "Old Reliable" Smith.
Sure, if you're looking for contrast. The problem is we have plenty of offense and don't really need another scorer in the mix.
Not on defense. But hell yes on offense. Give him the ball in the post, maybe dwight can learn something.
The most important contribution from C in defense is protect the paint and help the guards, usually not guarding his own man. In the category, DMO is very bad. My choice is no, perhaps with two more years
