Oh, and last season because Dwight wasn't playing hard due to not getting post touches, other players like Ariza said to themselves why am I gonna bust my ass on defense when the defensive anchor doesn't care and isn't playing hard? What's the point? So Ariza and others wouldn't give all of their effort either because Dwight wasn't. Dwight's effect on the team was horrible.
dont put it all on dwight, its the whole daam team. they did dwight dirty by reducing his role on offense despite not having enough players who can generat etheir own offense, and in retaliation he half assed. he may be declining but nowhere near as bad as he showed last season.
Only 3 pt attempt that should come from him is one with 1 second left in the quarter and he is 38 feet away. Otherwise BAN him from shooting threes. Pretty sure Shaq, D12, and bob down at the car wash are the only worse 3 of shooters in the league.
If he can eliminate all the three pointers from his game except when he is absolutely torching and wide open then he can do well. As bad as he was, Brewer is definitely a player that feeds to momentum and how the game is going. If the Rockets are going up and down, he plays pretty well. The problem was that most of last year, we played so bad that his play looked even worst. If we can decide on a tempo and stick with it, he should do fine
I think he needs to start the season as the 3rd or 4th guy down the bench. Earn those minutes before they try to make him 6th man of the year again. All the brick laying, all the out of control, head down, no chance of passing, hyper aggressive for no reason lay ups that clang off the rim....we don't need that at all. over reliance on him to be the one man burst for 30 minutes a night was clearly one of the big downfalls. So reel it back, 10-15 minutes a night where if he's on he'll score a point a minute and get the crowd going and if he's not on you'll know and pull him soon enough that it didn't kill your chance to win.
Durant goes to GSW and we're wondering if brewer could turn it around from bad to mediocre, lol. What the hell is happening to the nba.
