How about defense? Let's say it straight, neither of those 2, Luis or Carl are great post defenders and they are not strong enough to play against 'normal' centers.
Were Cook and Ariza on the opposite side of the same trade? Why do we always get same people in a trade? Tmac and SF3, and now.
BimaThug, Andersens high side is sean marks imo. I'm not saying cooks is off the charts, i'm just saying there is a reason why a guy stays overseas till he's 30 and is not considered the best big over there. At least scola was the best big guy over there.I do remember cook dropping 30 on the rox .
You're not serious right? The only thing you can argue about Cooks value is the abillity to spread the floor. We needed that when Yao was here but now that Yao out. Cook lost all his value. Plus the addition of Andersen, Cook should not be in anyone's though.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.....breath......Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Actually, there has been talk of Andersen coming to the NBA for the past 2-3 seasons. Other teams had interest in him, but Atlanta's asking price was too high. The Hawks would have signed him earlier, but (a) they drafted Al Horford (#3 overall in 2007) and Shelden Williams (#5 overall in 2006) and already had Zaza Pachulia; and (b) the Hawks didn't want to pay Andersen nearly what he was getting paid in Europe. Honestly, man, to think that Andersen (who Morey signed to be the team's starting C and eventually primary backup to Yao) is not as good as the current 15th man on the roster is pretty damn pessimistic. Again, we're not comparing Andersen to even the worst starting center in the league. We're comparing him to Brian Cook. It just sounds like you don't believe in Morey's basketball knowledge. I'm going to go ahead and trust his opinion over yours. No offense.
Don't they make the same amount per year? The fact is Cook isn't even worth the vet min. Hell, he's not even good enough for the D-league!
Don't the Rockets have people who's job is to scout these players and analyze their strengths/weaknesses in detail? I'm assuming these decisions are being made in a collaborative manner with a number of knowledgeable people involved.
ah classic blind in morey we trust logical fallacy. I'm sure his number 2 center was Andersen. No one between Gortat and him. no not never.
Of course. That's what I meant. But it's just easier to say "Morey" in reference to the Rockets' front office. Sorry.
And no I'm not saying morey is dumb or cook is a good player, but just the fact that Anderson is a rocket doesn't mean any of us should expect anything besides being just about the worst starting center in the league.
Sure, there may have been some options between Gortat and Andersen. But I can guaran-damn-tee you that Brian Cook wasn't one of them.
All right smart guy, since we weren't going to get Gortat, and since Anderson is apparently fail according to you, your brilliant plan for a starting center is.......what, again?
