My mind is open, otherwise I would have put you on my ignore list a long time ago. I haven't just realized your opinion, I just want you to openly aknowledge it. You talk all the time about needing a better passer, then you think an idea like trading Steve for Arenas would solve that, even though Arenas has only shown that he is Steve Francis Lite. I know you'd love that deal, not because Arenas would be a better passer, he wouldn't, but because he's not as good as Francis, he'd clearly be 2nd fiddle to Yao. That's the real problem with you, you don't care about what's best for the Rockets, you only care about what's best for Yao. Now, you are accusing Francis of the worst thing a professional athlete can be accused of, throwing a game on purpose. Not only that, you are saying that he's playing mindgames with JVG and using other players as his unwitting pawns. So you are gonna accuse Francis of commiting the ultimate sin for his first bad game of the season and tell me I don't have an open mind? If you are gonna come up with such a ridiculous idea, it means you are the one with blinders on because this idea fits with all of your opinions. It's the next logical jump you'd make. You've tried to discredit his talent, nobody bought it, you tried to make him seem like he doesn't like Yao, nobody bought it, you've said that he freezes Yao out, Van Gundy says that is toal BS, so then you claim Van Gundy doesn't know what he's talking about, that the coach who watched hours upon hours of tape "doesn't get it." Well, nobody bought that crap either, so now you are accusing Francis of throwing games to prove a point to JVG. Despicable.
Lets face it, "Catino Mobley = Ricky Davis". They are the same type of player. They are greedy ball hogs who think they are above the system. Here is my solution: 1. Direct trade with another team for: Giricek, Gordan, Orlando Magic (this guy is going to be good. I watched him play a couple of times. He is similar to Emanuel Ginobili. He can slash to the basket and make the outside shot. But more importantly this guy plays smart. If Houston could make a direct swap for Giricek then this would be the best trade. I'm not sure how many years this guy has left on his contract but Houston should make a bid for his services. Orlando might like this cause their offense is anemic and having Mobley would certainly give the Magic a push in offense. This trade might actually work out if you add in a few players to balance the salaries. Here are other players I would consider swapping for: Barry, Brent, Seattle Sonics (consistant player, great passer, unassuming) Turkoglu, Hedo, San Antonio Spurs (knows how to play big in big games, can play 4 positions, good passer, and consistent player) Wells, Bonzi, Portland Trail Blazers (athletic, can do it all, doesn't seem to have to big of an ego, can play within a team system, however some attitude problems, might be 2 pricey) Mercer, Ron, San Antonio Spurs (good athlete, not consistent enough, can play his role, instant offense off the bench, could be a good 6th man) Here are other possibilities if we are desperate: McInnis, Jeff, Portland Trail Blazers (not as good as the guys already mentioned above; however, he does know his role and will play within his capabilities) *** I think it would be a great idea to put Ricky Davis and Mobley on the expansion team in Charlotte. They would probably love to play together considering they have exactly the same game. Charlotte would love it cause they would bring a fast pace explosive game and probably get a few wins as well. *** Here is something to think about. Davis is probably the most complete player that Cavalier's have, yet they want to trade him? Why? Cause he is a cancer for the team. While Davis might provide a few wins here and there it's r****ding the growth and commodore of the team overall. If that is true then that would mean that the team will never be able to play to their full potential. So to solve this, the Cavaliers are trying to get rid of this guy. If you ask me, Mobley is the same. **** I actually think Steve would play better without Mobley around. The reason is because Steve doesn't have a strong mental character. You can see it in his eyes. He wants to make his friend Mobley happy but at the same time he doesn't wants to play like a total idiot. If you get rid of Mobley, Steve will feel free to play 100% Van Gundy System. There won't be little pockets of resistance.
LOL, doesn't have a big ego? So when he refused to come out and then he cussed out his coach on the sideline for taking him out of the game, he did it out of a sense of modesty and humility?
Cuttino & Cato for Dirk Nowitski. Which team looks like potential playoff contenders and which team looks capable of winning in the playoffs? Jackson, Taylor, Yao, Mobley, Francis Jackson, Nowitski, Yao, Francis, Moochie
Mobley had abut 7 assists last night, and a lot his shots came when Yao was in foul trouble and Francis was on the bench. I swear, people will look for anything to complain about, especially when it comes to Mobley and Francis. Nevermind that the Rockets are 9-4, start calling players with about 6 or 7 assists ball-hogs and trade them! So tell me, how is a player with that many assists last night a ball-hog?
I looked up the boxscore, and I can't believe people chose last night as the night to rip Mobley after he put up these numbers: 17 points, 9 rebounds 6 assists With a lot of his shot attempts coming while Yao was in foul trouble. I guarantee the people whining about Mobley now would have ripped him for not taking shot attempts while Yao and Francis were out of the game. People just can't go a day without ripping on Mobley for whatever reason. The Rockets win on a night he gets 6 assists, and for some reason people equate this to him being a ball-hog who won't pass to Yao. The Rockets are 9-4, how is the guy a cancer? This is just stupid.
Listen People, Cat cannot co exist with anyone on any team. He's a moron, which means he makes costly mistakes at critical times. He's a horrible team player and a pretty good shooter. I'm not saying that he dislikes anyone on the team or has hurtfull feelings towards anyone. He's just not smart which negates him from being a team leader and an allstar. Just being able to shoot well won't get you far in this league. You have to be able to make good decisions and have all around game. He doesn't. SO for the last time: CAT SUCKS AND HE NEEDS BE SHIPPED THE HELL OUT OF TOWN!
As is usually the case on these boards these days this discussion took about 5 posts to become C-R-A-P! Some of y'all should maybe look into rooting on the Cleveland Cavaliers: they have a possible R.O.Y. contender and would probably like all the "whining" as anybody saying anything about thier team is probably encouraged. "Teams don't want him to catch the ball down low. It's a mismatch with everybody. When you see he's free, you try to deliver it as fast as possible. But sometimes it's hard. There's a lot of pulling, grabbing, holding. "Hakeem had that experience. This is (Yao's) first year. It's experience with each other, too. It's being patient with the guy with the ball and with Yao. It takes time, but it will come." - Rockets guard Cuttino Mobley, 3/6/03 I love him. I love him. He's not a cocky kid. He's lovable. I just love playing with him." - Rocket teammate Cuttino Mobley, 12/24/02 Granted, these quotes are a little old, but it's better then me speculating anything (as some of you are so quick to do). The Rockets front office knows what they're doing: that's why we're not the Bulls trading our whole lineup (and coaching staff) everytime there's a problem. As noted above, the biggest problem some posters have may not be with Yao & Cat (and SF and Mo and Cato and....), but with being Rox fans, and if that's the case-GOOD RIDDANCE. HOUSTON OR BUST!!!!!!
*lol* You're a Rockets fan? Look, you hating Francis, Mobley with a passion is one thing, but to hope the Rockets "lose @ least the next four games" is as boneheaded as you've claimed our guards to be.
I was told by a friend who's close to the Rockets that the reason JVG played Mobley big minutes is getting him ready for a trade. As a matter of fact, they'd like to see Cat have some breakout game early in the season to raise his trading value.. Remember the rumor about trading him to Philly ..? Not sure if it's true.. === Yao and Steve are my hero!
