Aldridge got paid. Landry hasn't got that big, monster contract yet.

This poll had me confused (the timing) until I saw it was created last May. Let's take a look at Carl's current season stats vs. Aldridge's.

    Carl:
    HTML:
Season Team G GS MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
    09-10 HOU 18 0 25.7 0.557 0.000 0.889 2.5 3.3 5.8 0.5 0.4 0.8 1.3 3.0 15.6
    LaMarcus
    HTML:

Season Team G GS MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
    09-10 POR 19 19 32.8 0.480 0.500 0.828 1.8 5.7 7.5 1.7 0.4 0.5 1.0 2.8 14.9
Carl is averaging more ppg in seven less minutes per game and his field goal percentage is much better due to him playing more around the paint as opposed to settling for jump shots. LA has the rebounding advantage but, again, he is playing seven more minutes per game than Carl. Carl's mid range shot is actually very good. I would say they are very comparable.

We may have lost the game tonight but Carl completely out played Aldridge and especially during crunch time. LA disappeared while Carl went on the attack.

Many of Carl's offensive rebounds were right against Aldridge. LA is a finesse guy and doesnt want any part of that big bad #14!

I always disliked LA's game. A guy with his size and raw talent should be dominating in the post, not shooting 14 foot jumpers. Dont know why everyone hyped him up so much.

Im aware Landry shoots jumpers a lot too, but he's also developing a post game and he always crashes the boards.

The numbers are actually in Landry's favor. He's even blocking shots at a higher clip than Aldridge, which surprised me.

With Oden out, LA may start asserting himself more in the blocks. At least, he should. There's no reason for him not to be a a primary low post option for them.

inch for inch I think Carl can be the better player, but LA is going to be a great player and will develop more, and you can't teach height.

I bet LaMarcus Aldridge can't jump over a 6 foot fence with a bullet in his leg! ;)

All of you who say no are just ignorant idiots... HE ALREADY IS!!!! Landry is the main reason we win in the fourth quarter... he is the best player on a decent team... Aldridge is the second best player on a decent team.

Bill Worrell mentioned that Aldridge was bothered by some sort of injury, and the way he played reflected that. Normally, Adridge would easily get 20+ points on us... it was obvious that something was bothering him tonight.

Landry had an awesome game, but I still wouldn't call him a better player than Aldridge.

You can only blame so much on not feeling well or having a nagging injury during one game. Carl is out performing LA for the whole season not just last nights game.

Players that come into the game as a softy seldom change their personalities. LA is a very good player but he has always played soft, even at UT so I see nothing in the way he plays now or in the past that make me think he is going to ever have the interior game that Carl does because its just not in his personality.

It is Carl's personality to attack the basket and fight hard to get to the rim either for rebounds or points. Carl is a worrier. LA is a very good player with a high skill but certainly not the worrier that Carl is. I thought I saw that last season in the play-offs but I'm certain about it now.

They're both similar in that they are both tall, black and play basketball. Other than that, I think they're pretty different. Landry is more explosive. Aldridge is more well rounded.
