Is anybody actually surprised Perry dominated? He's been the Gov. of the State that has weathered the recession better than most, and actually has companies moving here because of the business climate.
If he had a D by his name with the same budge deficit, he would be gone. Repubs only care about deficits when a Dem is in office.
And so when Rick Perry decides to run for the 2012 presidential bid, maybe the rest of country will realize what a joke he is, because Texans sure can't (or they do but he has an R next to his name).
Yep. This happened to me as an undergraduate - Perry cut so much funding for the university that, had I not been in my last semester, I wouldn't have been able to afford to continue my degree, even though I was summa c*m laude in two different majors. Lucky timing on my part - but I feel sorry for all the people who came after me.
Yeah, the morans vote to get a hundred dollar tax break and then have their kid's tutition go up another $3,000 at UT, and think they are getting a deal because they got a tax break.
And it's not just Texas. I predict a brutal couple of years in terms of federal college programs also.
Do you like Perry? That surprises me. Do you have a problem with him hiding the state's deficit reality? I'm not saying you needed to vote for White -- I'm just surprised you of all people would give Perry the time of day. Interesting.
Feel terrible for Patrick Rose, one of the most level-headed bipartisan guys in the Tx House; hopefully he bounces back and this isn't the end of his political career, he's exactly the type of politician we need in Austin. Yes, he got replaced by a blowhard teabagging nutbar.
